📋 About This Mod
Description:
This mod improves Mount Charleston and nearby mountain ranges. The vanilla Mount Charleston didn't look or feel like a real mountain, so I tried to change this by adding massive snowy mountain models that create cool scenery. It pairs well with either Distant Rock LOD Kit by goshko or Mojave Mountains by Spifferino, depending on your preference.
Technical Info:
My mod utilizes the vanilla imposter and region systems, meaning you don't even need to regenerate your LOD to see my mountains from anywhere in the wasteland.
Compatibility:
Compatible with:
Mojave Scenery Overhaul
Distant Rock LOD Kit (hNVSE is required)
Mojave Mountains (hNVSE is required)
Any other imposter region mod, if you're using hNVSE
Lucky 38 Mojave View - ESPless (check the instructions down below)
Instructions on how to make my mod compatible with Lucky 38 Mojave View
1. Generate LOD for vanilla worldspaces by following Viva New Vegas LOD guide.
2. Install Lucky 38 Mojave View and Mojave Mountain Ranges (or Extended) LOD files.
3. Generate Terrain and Objects LOD for Lucky38World.
4. Disable Lucky38 Mojave View.esp and Mojave Mountain Ranges (or Extended) LOD files. Note that it is better to disable the whole mod, not just MojaveMountainRangesLOD.esm.
5. Install Mojave Mountain Ranges (or Extended).
6. Enjoy the View!
If you ever need to regenerate LOD for Lucky38World, don't forget to disable main mod and enable LOD files again.
Also, don't generate LOD in WastelandNV worldspace if you have my LOD files enabled, otherwise you'll have flickering mountains.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Decent download count (25,830) shows it's been tried by many
- Simple, focused improvement—no bloat, just better mountains
- Recently updated (Feb 2026), so it's likely compatible with current setups
⚠️ Cons
- Low endorsement-to-download ratio (171 endorsements) suggests it may not be a must-have
- Only affects Mount Charleston area, so if you want broader visual overhauls, look elsewhere
For Fallout: New Vegas players who want a quick visual touch-up to the mountains around Mount Charleston without installing a massive overhaul. If you're a completionist who wants every area to look its best, this is a low-risk add. Skip if you're after major graphical changes or gameplay tweaks.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a simple visual mod, just drop the files into your Data folder and enable it in your mod manager.
- If you use other mountain or texture mods, load this one after them to ensure its changes take priority.
- Check the mod's comments section for any user-reported compatibility issues with popular overhauls like NMC's Texture Pack.
