📋 About This Mod
Refill Water Bottles
Overview: This is the first of a series of mods that I intend on throwing onto the Nexus. What this mod does is rather simple, but it fixes something that has always bothered me. What I am of course talking about is the destiny of the bottles that were used to contain the water that which you consume. I mean, first of all, think about the possible outcomes of what the player character does with it. Does he merely throw it away? Because if so, what a stupid thing to do. Surely in a place where every resource is valuable and everyone is fighting over everything, your player character shouldn't have such a careless disregard for something that can hold such a useful resource in a scorching desert like the Mojave.
That is why I made this mod, to rectify the problem, while making sure that the game does not become unbalanced. What do I mean by this? Well, first of all, always getting bottles back after you drink out of them might become to overpowered as if you spend a lot of time near a water source, they can soon stack up until you will never need fear about dehydration again. That is why I made it so that whenever you drink out of a bottle for the second time it will "break."
Another note is that all water valves like that of the ones at Goodsprings Source now open a crafting menu where you can collect water using a survival skill of 5 and up as well as 1 empty water bottle. You can still drink the water straight from the source though, as you can drink from the concrete water trough that surrounds the water pumps.
How the refill process works: 1. Drink out of a "new" bottle of purified water and receive an empty bottle. 2. Refill the bottle at any water valve in the wasteland that looks like that of the ones in Goodsprings. 3. After you receive your refilled bottle of water it will be ready for consumption. However, upon consumption that bottle will break.
Notable Features:
- []A message whenever a bottle breaks, so that you know if you've retrieved the bottle or not. []A custom crafting activator for refilling empty water bottles and emptying and refilling dirty water bottles. []An altered texture for the empty water bottles. []A reworking of all large clean water pumps in the wasteland.
Discovered Bugs:
- []If you're using an inventory sorter or Project Nevada's built in inventory sorter please be aware that it addresses the refilled bottles of water as "FOOD" and not "H2O." []Incompatibilities may occur if you use any mods that change the water valve activators that are used at Goodsprings Source.
Extensions and Optional Files: [*]Unbreakable
