📋 About This Mod
At the start of combat, non-unique NPCs will have a chance of moving towards their enemy and blowing themselves up when they get within a certain range.
This behavior is faction based. To add or remove a faction to this mod, edit the "Self Destruction Enemies.ini" within your KEYWORDS folder.
Here's a gif, and another one, demonstrating what this looks like. I don't know how to play them within my description.
Different factions will have different explosions, configurable through "Self Destruction Enemies.ini". Factions not specified in the explosion section of the ini will use the frag grenade explosion.
This is not unique to targeting the player. NPCs have a chance to target anyone they are in combat with.
ini Settings:
iBomberChance=35 ;Chance for bombers to spawn
iBomberSpeed=125 ;Bomber movement speed. Set to 100 for vanilla (I think)
iBombDistance=155 ;Minimum distance needed for explosion
iHighlightBomber=1 ;Highlight the bomber. Can be janky. Fix with reload
iExplodeOnDeath=1 ;1=Bomber explodes after death. 0=They don't
iEoDDelay=3 ;Time after death for explosion
HUGE thank you to ProfMajkowski for Unique Actor Keywords, which helped me get past a huge roadblock!

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny but active community (26 endorsements, 6.6k downloads) — a hidden gem for chaos lovers.
- Adds unpredictable, explosive moments to combat — perfect for players who want to shake up vanilla AI behavior.
- ESPless means no plugin overhead, so it's lightweight and won't clutter your load order.
⚠️ Cons
- Very low endorsement count (26) — this is a niche mod with a small following, so support is minimal.
- No details on how the chance is calculated or if it's configurable — you're stuck with whatever the author set.
- Last updated in Feb 2026 — could be out of date if the game has patched since then, so check compatibility.
For players who want to add chaotic, explosive surprises to NPC combat. If you're tired of predictable AI and want random kamikaze moments, this is for you. Skip if you prefer realistic or tactical combat — this is pure chaos.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's ESPless, you can just drop the files into your Data folder — no mod manager needed, but using one helps with uninstalling.
- Test it in a small battle first to see how often kamikaze triggers — you might want to adjust your playstyle to avoid friendly fire.
- If you're on a modded setup, make sure your other combat mods don't conflict with NPC behavior — this could override or be overridden.
