📋 About This Mod
Description
This mods adds a bunch of recipes for most raw items to be cooked into stackable "Food Rations" item.
Doesn't change old recipes.
Doesn't affect items that can be converted into Salient Green.
For these recipes to show you'll need 30 in your Survival.
You'll get better recipes on Survival 60 and then again on Survival 90.
It makes inventory management much easier, now you can convert most raw items into "Food Rations" to complement plant conversion into "Salient Green" with OWB DLC.
Changes from the original
This is my update for the original mod which can be found here.
If you liked my version, go give the original an endorsement as well!
Here's a full list of changes I've done:
Input changes:
> Now it takes only 1 item to cook a single ration (previously 2:1 which created leftovers)
Output changes:
> Food ration now gives you 5 rads.
> Healing rates now get better for more improved recipes (previously only Hunger satisfied differed).
> Food ration now has lower healing rate (approx. 1/3... 2/3 of what was before).
Skill requirement changes:
> Now you need at least Survival 30 to start cooking and you'll get improved recipes on 60 & 90 (Previously 15-33-50).
Recipe changes:
> Removed Maize from recipes (It can be converted to Salient Green).
> Renamed "Prepare rations from Flour" to "Prepare rations from Dough" (Recipe itself is the same Flour+Yeast+Water)
> Removed recipe from sole potatoes, they're a part of Vegetables recipe (potatoes + carrots)
Compatibility
Modifies the same script as Burning campfire redone, so the mod with higher priority (lower in loadorder) will win.
Semi-compatible with TTW, you just can't use most of Capital Wasteland ovens for cooking.
Might fix those two issues later when I'll return to FNV. No other problems reported.
Ovens I prefer to use in Capital Wasteland:
1) BBQ grill south of Minefield.
2) Hotplate inside player owned house in Megaton. (Tenpenny tower personal lux suite untested)
3) BBQ grill in Rivet City Marketplace (possibly part of TTW Rivet City Merchants Plus )
4) Stove in Henry Lawsen's Cellarshop

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Streamlines cooking by turning raw ingredients into stackable rations, saving inventory space.
- Non-intrusive: doesn't alter vanilla recipes, so it's safe to add to existing playthroughs.
- Small but dedicated following (40 endorsements) suggests it works as intended for those who use it.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in December 2020 — may be incompatible with the latest Skyrim version or require patches.
- Limited scope: only adds recipes for raw items, so it won't appeal to players wanting a full cooking overhaul.
- No documentation or install instructions provided by the author, so you're on your own for setup.
For Skyrim players who find cooking tedious and want a quick way to turn raw food into stackable rations. Skip if you're looking for a comprehensive cooking overhaul or if you play on a newer game version without compatibility patches.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it doesn't change old recipes, you can safely install it mid-playthrough without breaking existing cooking.
- Check if your mod manager supports Skyrim Special Edition or Anniversary Edition, as the mod may need a compatibility patch for those versions.
- If you use other cooking mods, test in a new save to ensure no conflicts with the new recipes.
