📋 About This Mod

Thank you for 1000 downloads :)

To be honest I can't remember why I made this, like out of all things to make better, and I chose mushrooms? Anyway, this mod replaces Vault 22's mushrooms with higher poly versions of the original models by using Blender's subdivide modifier.

As a result of using this modifier instead or remaking the models from the ground up, retextures are fully compatible!

Tools Used:

B. A. E - Used to extract meshes from FNV'S BSAs.

Blender - Used to make Vault 22's mushrooms higher poly.

Blender Niftools Addon -  Plugin for Blender that allows Nif files to be imported and exported.

NifSkope - Importing and saving nif files with this makes them not crash the game, I have no idea why exporting a nif file straight from Blender crashes FNV once the model is loaded ingame.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Community-tested with 333 endorsements—players dig it
  • Simple visual upgrade for a specific area, no bloat
  • High download-to-endorsement ratio suggests it works as advertised

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2021—might not be compatible with the latest game patches or mods
  • Only affects Vault 22 mushrooms, so if you're not there often, you'll barely notice it
🎯 Is This For You?
For Fallout: New Vegas players who want to polish up Vault 22's visuals without overhauling the whole game. If you're a completionist who explores every corner, this is a nice touch. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes—this is purely cosmetic.
📦 Install:Easy· Under 1 minute

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since it's a simple replacer, just drop the files into your Data folder and enable the mod in your launcher or mod manager.
  • If you use other Vault 22 texture mods, load this one after them to ensure the mushrooms get replaced properly.
  • Make sure you have the game's DLC or updates that include Vault 22—this mod won't work if you don't have the base game content.
