Ghouls Are People Too

=[ GHOULS ARE PEOPLE TOO! ]= = History = At the time when the bombs fell many people fled to the safety of the great Vaults, emerging centuries later unaffected by the lethal levels of radiation that had plagued the land in that time. However, more people still had had no safe place to retreat to and had to make do with whatever shelter they could find - basements, metro tunnels, even sewers and caves were used as hideouts to protect the residents from the nuclear blasts. While this did indeed save their lives at the time, the fallout would soon start to take its toll on the survivors. Most who were exposed to the radiation went sick and died almost immediately. Those who did not succumb to illness began to change, the very air burning off their skin, their flesh rotting away. Still they lived on, and some left their shelters to start new lives in the wasteland left by what became known as the Great War. Some fell into a deep depression, losing all will to live and slowly wasting away until only their bones bore witness to their existence. Others gradually went insane - whether this was a result of the radiation getting to their brains, or that their minds could not handle the change and simply snapped, is unknown. Afterwards they would roam the wastes, indiscriminately attacking any and all humans untainted by the radiation, perhaps out of resentment towards those who left them to die all those years ago. But wanderers who survive an attack sometimes claim that these feral Ghouls, even as they claw at them in a frenzy, stare with pleading eyes as if crying out for a release from their cursed fate. = About the Mod = This is a small texture tweak to make Feral Ghouls look more like the humans they once were, by giving their eyes pupils and/or irises, and their skin a closer-to-skin-colored tone. The change was intended to be part of a mod project I started long ago, but I eventually abandoned the idea because my ambitions far outmatched my modding skills. As it were I stopped playing New Vegas for a while and the files were left to rot in my Data folder (see what I did there?), but when I started again and ran into a pack of Ferals I was fascinated by the strong impression this small change left. I decided to upload an image of it, which got a great response from the community and several requests for me to upload the tweak itself on the Nexus. I was a bit reluctant at first because the change only affected one type of Feral and was of poor quality to boot, but in the end I decided to polish it up, apply it to the other variants and get it uploaded. Note that the new files are just slightly tweaked vanilla textures, meaning they will look alright from a small distance but horrible up close because of the relatively low resolution. = Installation = Extract the contents of the archive to your Fallout: New Vegas installation folder. = Uninstallation = Remove the files added by
