Extended Crafting - An Addon for B42 Bows

DESCRIPTION

"Extended Crafting for B42" is a mod that uses Xilandro's B42 Bows as a base to expand New Vegas' crafting system. Not only does this mod let you build your own bows and arrows, but also clubs, knives and throwing weapons! It also adds tons of new recipes that all use the custom resources added by B42 bows. Use Wood, Plastic and Metal Tubing to craft weapons and components for crafting! To top it all off, it even lets you break down vanilla junk items into crafting resources!

The goal of this mod is to better integrate B42's new resources into the overall game world, make them more accessible for players, and overall enhance crafting to make it feel more well-rounded. All while maintaining the original game's balance and progression.

-Vanilla Friendly! Changes no vanilla items or mechanics. Every item is either from the base game or B42 Bows.

-Developed with balance in mind. Recipes are designed to not give you overpowered items or be abused. All of them are skill-locked based on item value.

-Increased utility! Dozens of items that were either useless or situational are now much more useful.

EXPLANATION - WHY MAKE THIS MOD?

I was playing FafnirEtherion 's B42 Bows Crafting and I was bummed you couldn't scrap clipboards for wood. Then I realized I could just change that in FNVEdit myself. Then, when I saw how easy it was to make a new recipe, and I went a little nuts. I thought to myself "If you can make a bow, why wouldn't you make other weapons that are essentially just wood and metal?" and then I realized I could address some things that always bugged me about the crafting system.

For me, crafting in New Vegas has always felt a bit esoteric, situational and underutilized. You can make some great stuff, but not as much as I'd like, and often you have to scrounge around for very specific items that only spawn in a few places. On top of that, there are a ton of items in the game that aren't very useful, either doing nothing or being used in only a single recipe.

This mod exists to fix those problems. The new recipes and resources are designed to round out the original crafting system, applying a more self-sustaining ecosystem where everything flows naturally. The stuff you collect and craft makes you progress in the system and get more resources. The crafting system is, ideally, now something that's always a part of the game rather than something you remember occasionally or dig up when you need it for a single thing.
