This was an enormous labor of love. There are only 3 things you need to know.
1
There are no requirements. As far as animation replacers go, this is as basic as it gets.
It's so simple that it works with Fallout 3. If you don't like an animation, simply delete it from your file system.
When a file is deleted, the animation will default to vanilla.
2
Please keep an eye out for updates. Crouching, crippled, and power armor animations are coming.
Every animation will be improved in the future updates as well.
360 movement will come after animations are improved.
3
My mods are free and will remain free, always.
However, some day in the future, I'm going to ask you all a huge favor involving money.
I have an idea. For more info, contact me on Discord.

Install the newest version of REALISTIC MOVEMENT to make enemies even LESS likely to dodge your bullets.
With Realistic Movement installed, animation is slower and more true to how fast humans move in real life.
(Some of the clips from the YouTube videos were done with Realistic Movement installed.)
Animation file naming conventions:
1gt: Grenades and throwables
1hm: 1-handed melee weapons
1hp: 1-handed pistol firearms
2ha: 2-handed assault firearms, service rifles, assault carbines
2hh: Miniguns, flamethrowers
2hl: 2-handed nuke launchers
2hm: 2-handed melee
2hr: 2-handed repeaters, shotguns, snipers, battle rifle (GRA)
h2h: Hand-to-hand
Dramatic Inertia is an animation overhaul that makes all human characters lean into movement and gallop before running, adding acceleration to all movement. This makes enemies less likely to dodge bullets, enhancing combat dynamics. With nearly 2,000 endorsements and over 300,000 downloads, it's a popular choice for players seeking more realistic movement.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge community trust: 1,965 endorsements and 306k downloads
- Simple concept that adds a lot of visual flair to movement
- Tactical edge: enemies dodge less, so your shots land more often
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects humans—creatures and other NPCs keep vanilla movement
- Acceleration might feel sluggish if you're used to instant response
- No mention of compatibility with other animation mods—could conflict
For players who want more realistic, weighty movement in third-person and enjoy a subtle gameplay advantage. If you're into immersion and don't mind a slight learning curve, this is for you. Skip if you prefer fast, arcade-style movement or if you use other animation overhauls that might clash.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're on PC, make sure to install via your mod manager to keep track of updates.
- Test in third-person view to see the lean and gallop animations clearly.
- Pair with a dodge overhaul to see the full effect on enemy behavior.
