📋 About This Mod
Ever had trouble seeing those monochrome vending machine codes in the Sierra Madre? No?
Well... I have bad eyesight, so I made this anyway.
This mod replaces the standard holotape model of the vending machine codes to a custom keycard model with glowing circuitry (it's using Big Mt. tech, don't think about it too much).
Textures are based on 1k upscaled from the base game, with my little tweaks (including a nifty logo, if you zoom in enough to be able to see it).
Install with your favourite mod manager.
Should work with any mods that don't edit the vending machine notes in any way.
If you'd like to use this mod in your mod and/or mod compilation, drop me a message beforehand so I can take a look at what you want to do with it.
Also crediting me would be appreciated, thanks.
This small mod for Fallout: New Vegas remodels the Sierra Madre vending machine codes with custom upscaled textures that glow bright yellow, making them much easier to spot. It's a simple quality-of-life improvement for players who often miss these codes in the Dead Money DLC. With 545 endorsements and nearly 620k downloads, it's a popular and well-received tweak.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Community favorite with 545 endorsements and over 600k downloads—clearly fills a need.
- Glowing yellow codes are a godsend for Dead Money's dark environments; you won't miss them again.
- Lightweight and easy to install—just drop it in and go.
⚠️ Cons
- Only affects the vending machine codes—if you wanted other visual tweaks, this won't help.
- No screenshots or detailed install instructions provided, so you're flying blind until you test it.
- Last updated in January 2026, but no compatibility notes for other mods that might alter the same textures.
For Fallout: New Vegas players who've squinted at those tiny vending machine codes in Dead Money and wished they were easier to see. If you're tired of missing codes and want a simple, no-fuss fix, this is for you. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or broader visual overhauls—this is purely a convenience tweak.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you have the Dead Money DLC installed, as the mod only affects its vending machine codes.
- If you use a mod manager like Vortex or NMM, you can install it directly; otherwise, manually extract to your Data folder.
- Since it's a texture replacer, load order shouldn't matter much, but place it after any other mods that might alter the same textures.
