Dead Man's Stash

Whenever you're looting an enemy, there's a small chance you'll find an item named "Stash Note". When you use this note (find it in the Aid tab), a message will show up with some flavor text and then a stash location will be revealed on your map. After that, all you need to do is make your way to the marked location and find a backpack with the Radiation patch on it (see screenshots). Whenever you "use" the Stash Note item, both the text in the note and the stash itself are picked randomly out of a pool of almost 100 options each.

The stashes can be looted at any time if you manage to find them on your own or randomly stumble upon them, but in case you then later find a note that points to this stash you already looted, its inventory will be refreshed and it can be looted again. And since the stashes make use of leveled item lists, you'll (probably) never get the same loot twice.

Since version 2. 0, there are now also multiple unique stashes that are only revealed once you find their respective notes (found on some named/unique NPCs) and can only be looted once. Unlike regular stashes, these unique stashes aren't marked on your map! Instead, you have to follow clues from the notes to find them.

  For the love of god, please, use a mod manager. Preferably MO2. If you install any of my mods manually, you will find me with a knife under your bed.

  Successfull installation is confirmed with a console print.

  []The backpack's textures really blend in with the environment, so you might sometimes be standing right next to a stash and not even know it.

  []The stashes are almost never out in the open! Make sure to check rooftops, walls, behind rocks, in bushes, etc. 

  []When you loot a stash, it will not respawn until you find a note that points to the same stash again, so don't bother returning with hopes for free loot.
