📋 About This Mod
///////////////
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
This was originally something I was requested to make for the Frontier, and I always intended for it to be used as a resource following its release.
It works as you would expect, activate the ladder to start climbing it, you can use your Forward/Backward or Jump/Crouch controls to climb up/down. Forward/Backwards moves you either up or down depending on what angle you are looking at, so looking down and pressing forward will have you go down.
For a quick guide to setting up a basic ladder:
-
[]Attach the script to any activatable model that you wish to use as a ladder, or use activate parents.[/]
[]Link the ladder to an XMarkerHeading on the ground, this will determine your starting position while climbing, as well as how low you can climb down.[/]
[]Link the bottom XMarkerHeading to one at the top, this one will serve as the max height you can climb.
[]Link the top XMarkerHeading to a third one, this one will act as a dismount point whenever you get within 6ft of the top.[/]
[](Optional) On the ladder's reference, change the "Interaction String Override" on the Activate Parents tab to something more fitting, like "Climb Ladder".[/]
[](Optional) Alter the script if the sound or climbing speed does not fit the ladder type you chose. [/]
And for a multipoint ladder, it's mostly the same with an added point in the middle.
[]Attach the script to any activatable model that you wish to use as a ladder, or use activate parents.[/]
[]Link the ladder to an XMarkerHeading on the ground, this will determine your starting position while climbing, as well as how low you can climb down.[/]
[]Link the bottom XMarkerHeading to a middle marker, you will move towards/away from this marker when climbing up if you are below/above it.
[]Link the middle XMarkerHeading to one at the top, this one will serve as the max height you can climb.[/]
[]Link the top XMarkerHeading to a fourth one, this one will act as a dismount point whenever you get within 6ft of the top.[/]
[](Optional) On the ladder's reference, change the "Interaction String Override" on the Activate Parents tab to something more fitting, like "Climb Ladder".[/]
[](Optional) Alter the script if the sound or climbing speed does not fit the ladder type you chose.[/]
Since this is intended to be a modder's resource, the .esp includes a single ladder placed in Novac as an exam
A compact resource mod for modders, originally created for the Frontier, providing a climbable ladder asset. With 56 endorsements and over 5,500 downloads, it's a niche but proven utility for creators looking to add functional ladders to their projects.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid download-to-endorsement ratio (5,526 downloads, 56 endorsements) shows it's being used
- Purpose-built for modders — exactly what you need if you're adding ladders
- Lightweight resource that won't bloat your project
⚠️ Cons

For modders who need a ready-made climbable ladder asset for their projects. If you're a player looking for gameplay content, this isn't for you — it's a building block for creators.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're new to modding, check the original Frontier mod to see how this ladder is integrated.
- Since it's a resource, you'll need to import it into your own mod files — make sure your mod manager supports resource packs.
- Test the ladder in-game after adding it to ensure it's climbable and doesn't conflict with other assets.
