📋 About This Mod

This mod requires New Vegas Script Extender and is compatible with the Mod Configuration Menu. This mod brings back the good old description messages from Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. All you have to do is to look at what you want to inspect and push the key (by default \"P\", can be configured with the MCM). Example: while looking at Doc Mitchell and pushing the button, the following message will appear: \"You see: Doc Mitchell. This guy saved your life.\" I will add more descriptions about NPC\'s and items later, so consider it as a beta. Please don\'t upload this mod anywhere without my authorization. 🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Classic Fallout Description Messages brings back the text-based inspection messages from Fallout 1 and 2 to New Vegas. Press a key (default P) while looking at an NPC or item to see a description. Requires NVSE and supports MCM. Currently in beta with limited content.

✨ Key Features

Press a key (default P) to inspect objects and NPCs, displaying classic Fallout-style description messages.
Key binding is configurable via the Mod Configuration Menu (MCM).
Compatible with New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE).
Currently in beta, with plans to add more descriptions for NPCs and items.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Nostalgic throwback for Fallout 1 and 2 fans (246 endorsements).
  • Simple and intuitive: just look and press a key.
  • MCM support means you can rebind the key to your liking.

⚠️ Cons

  • Still in beta, so the number of descriptions is limited.
  • Requires NVSE, which might be a hurdle for some players.
  • Potential conflicts with other mods that use the same key or alter inspection mechanics.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Fallout: New Vegas players who miss the flavor text from the original Fallout games and want a quick lore hit. If you're a completionist who likes to inspect everything, this adds a nice layer of immersion. Skip if you want deep gameplay changes—this is purely cosmetic.
📦 Install:Medium· 5-10 minutes

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure NVSE is installed correctly and launch the game through NVSE's loader, not the default launcher.
  • Use the Mod Configuration Menu to rebind the inspect key if 'P' conflicts with other mods.
  • Since it's a beta, don't expect descriptions for every NPC or item—check the mod page for updates.
