Charon Returns

After many years serving many masters, Charon, one time companion and guardian of the Lone Wanderer, has found himself up a mountain in the middle of nowhere guarding a man who never leaves home.

He'd love to get out and see some action, and all it would take is for somebody to stumble across the Doc's hiding place and become the new holder of Charon's employment contract.

Charon is essential, has a fully functional companion wheel, and still has his unique combat shotgun, knife and leather armor. He has all the same functions and personality he had in Fallout 3, and is even set up to be fully voiced.

Unfortunately due to legal reasons I can't provide the renamed sounds from Fallout3, but with this mod I have made it surprisingly easy for the user to repurpose the files themselves. It contains a list of the 41 pairs of voice/lip files needed, how to find them, what to rename them and where to put them. Its only a small part of each which has to be changed, and is therefore a lot quicker and easier than you might expect.

The result is the exact same Charon we know and love, fully working just as he used to be, which is well worth the effort needed to set him up fully.

There are four versions to choose from. One with his original look, one using Dracomies' face redesign from Project Beauty, and optional versions of each which use FCO assets to give him a more realistic look while still retaining his Charon-ness.

Charon can be found guarding Doctor Henry at Jacobstown Lodge. For him to follow you, you must find and steal his contract, which the Doctor keeps close by.

Charon now comes with a perk, named Bodyguard. While Charon is with you, if your health drops below 20% he will gain +25% damage and +10 to crit chance and confidence, while enemies are 50% less likely to score a critical hit on you. I have also updated the instructions for voicing him, as the original contained a large mistake and was a little confusing in places.

Requirements;

The FCO versions use assets from FCO, but do not require it to be active. So if you don't use it but want Charon to look that way, you can install FCO and leave it inactive. Setting up the voice files requires you to have Fallout 3.

Only one I know of; If using the voices, Charon will still say he'll be waiting in underworld when fired. This cannot be fixed, as I cannot legally edit and upload any of these files.
