📋 About This Mod
Description
This is Capital Landscapes, a project that started over 1. 5 years ago. Initially, I planned to release a WIP version in December, but I have made significant progress on this mod in the last few months, so I believe it deserves a proper release. Get ready to explore many unmarked locations, see a variety of interesting custom assets, visit new interiors, and even stumble upon Wild Wasteland encounters (if you have the appropriate perk, of course).
Main Features
Custom Assets
High-quality custom assets include billboards, graffiti, street lights, cars, signs, and many more.
Unmarked Locations
A lot of new unmarked locations are scattered across the Capital Wasteland to make your exploration more interesting.
New Interiors
New immersive interiors for you to loot and explore.
Megaton Improvements
Overhaul of Megaton. More shacks, NPCs and unique assets.
Rivet City Improvements
Huge improvements have been made to Rivet City Marketplace and Capitol Preservation Society, making them more cluttered and lived-in.
Climbable Ladders
Climbable ladders allow you to access rooftops and overpasses.
Vanilla Interior Changes
I added a few extra details, like rugs and cobwebs, to some vanilla interiors. If you want more complex stuff, I recommend using The Great DC Interior Overhaul, which is fully compatible with my mod.
Other Changes
Not all changes are present in the description. There are a few more cool improvements that I didn't want to show right away. Hopefully, you will find them during your playthrough.
Regarding Navmesh
I'm awful at navmeshing, so I only made necessary tweaks. I tried to place everything away from combat encounters and NPC pathing routes to ensure no one gets stuck. However, if you see a place where NPCs are stuck badly, please open a bug report with a screenshot of that area, and I’ll try to figure something out.
Future Plans

With 164 endorsements and nearly 10,000 downloads, it has a modest but active following. Suitable for TTW players seeking a refreshed wasteland look.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Solid community backing with 164 endorsements and nearly 10k downloads
- Breathes new life into the Capital Wasteland for TTW players
- Actively maintained, last updated April 2026
⚠️ Cons
- Requires Tale of Two Wastelands, so it's not for vanilla Fallout 3 or New Vegas players
- Potential compatibility issues with other landscape mods, though not documented
For TTW veterans who want a fresh look at the Capital Wasteland without overhauling gameplay. If you're playing vanilla Fallout 3 or New Vegas, skip this—it's TTW-only. Also skip if you prefer lore-friendly minimal changes; this is a full environment replacement.
