📋 About This Mod

Atlas Ingestibles is a total overhaul of all consumable items focused on creating fun interactions and expanding consistency and polish

Included are many other features and changes related to consumables like new functions for vanilla perks, new perks, adjustments to Hardcore mode, recipe changes, new recipes, and even some entirely new consumables

The advantage of Atlas Ingestibles over similar mods is an AID item overhaul that is straightforward, mostly additive (enhancing and expanding existing mechanics rather than changing them fundamentally or removing them) and is broadly compatible with (and feels good in) most load orders. While not as hardcore as Sweet Consumables, Atlas Ingestibles can be described as a Hardcore Overhaul.

Major Changes TL;DR ↓

  • []Values changes (no valueless items, greater diversity, most things cheaper)[/]

[]Weight changes (no weightless items, greater diversity, most things lighter)[/]

[]Hardcore values changes (higher FOD & H20 values across the board)[/]

[]Dehydrating consumables are much less common[/]

[]Nearly all food items give some hydration[/]

[]Radiation is present in most consumables[/]

[]Radiation is higher in many consumables[/]

[]Many food items now give debuffs[/]

    []Food Sanitizer buffed & expanded[/]

[]Chemist perk enables Chem Crafting; all chems now craftable[/]

    []Stronger chems, longer chems[/]

[]Penalties for all chems, including additional penalties in Hardcore[/]

    [] Stimpaks heal over-time in non-hardcore[/]

[]Auto-Inject Stimpaks become Hypos, which heal instantly[/]

[]Doctors Bags buffed but heal limbs partially in non-hardcore[/]

    []Fixer's addiction removal effect restored[/]

[]Alcohol types have more interesting and varied effects from one another[/]

    []All addiction chances lowered[/]

[]4 new addictions; Caffeine, Cateye, RadAway & Stimpak[/]

[]Nerfed Magazines (+5 instead of +10)[/]

    Major Changes

    • []Hardcore/Non-Hardcore Blend: Rather than creating special functions for consumables when in Hardcore mode, Atlas Ingestibles attempts to create more of a synthesis, making Hardcore slightly less hardcore and non-Hardcore decently more hardcore. Click spoiler for examples of gameplay conditions that now exist in both modes[/]

    • []Stimpaks and Super Stimpaks are stronger but heal over time[/]

[]Auto-Inject Stimpaks have been reworked into 'Hypos' which heal instantly [/]

[]Many food items and all chems now give debuffs and/or penalties [/]

[]Doctors Bags restore limbs partially but are better at it and, with a perk, can restore HP as well [/]

[]Hydra restores limbs completely and then some but does so very slowly[/]

[]Weights: No weightless items, more diverse weights, more realistic weights, etc. Most things are a bit lighter and the weight of 1. 0 is less common.[/]

[]Values: Almost no valueless items, more diverse values, etc. Most things are a bit cheaper to better match the hardcore economy of TTW.[/]

[]Food: All food items restore roughly an additional 1. 75x FOD to decrease the frequency of extreme and unrealistic binge eating.[/]

[]Food Sanitizer: Buffed its effects on FOD by about 25% & expanded it to apply to ALL non-fresh food and fluid, including alcohol (when you have Old World Gourmet), sodas and activatable water sources. Also expanded its effects on food healing to all previously unaffected items. Removed effects on fresh foods/fluids. Now weighs 3 instead of 7.[/]

[]H20: Liquor and some chems dehydrate you, no other consumables do. Coffee, sodas and light alcohol now hydrate you somewhat instead. 'Water' items buffed significantly. Almost all food items now carry a small hydration boost as well. Massively buffed activatable water sources, making stops at them more appealing and less time consuming.[/]

[*]Chems: All chems now have non-Hardcore debuffs and further penalties for Hardcore players. Howev

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Atlas Ingestibles is a total overhaul of all consumables in Fallout: New Vegas, focused on balance and hardcore survival. It reworks values, weights, radiation, hydration, and addiction, adds new chems and recipes, and enhances vanilla perks. Designed to be mostly additive and load-order friendly, it's for players seeking a hardcore-leaning but not extreme consumable system.

✨ Key Features

Reworks all consumable values and weights, eliminating valueless and weightless items.
Adds radiation to most consumables and raises radiation levels in many.
Introduces 4 new addictions: Caffeine, Cateye, RadAway, and Stimpak.
Stimpaks heal over-time in non-hardcore; Auto-Inject Stimpaks become instant-heal Insta-Stims.
Chemist perk enables chem crafting, making all chems craftable with stronger and longer effects plus penalties.
Nerfs magazines to +5 instead of +10.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Small niche mod with a clear, load-order-friendly design (1 endorsement, 38 downloads).
  • Deep balance pass: no valueless or weightless items, radiation and hydration rebalanced, more consumable variety.
  • Adds real new content: 4 new addictions, all chems craftable, insta-stims, and stronger chems with penalties.

⚠️ Cons

  • Only 1 endorsement and 38 downloads means it hasn't been widely tested by the community.
  • Compatibility risk with other consumable or perk mods like Sweet Consumables or JSawyer.
  • Hardcore changes (higher FOD/H20 needs, radiation in most items) may be too punishing for non-hardcore players.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Fallout: New Vegas players who want a deeper survival experience without a complete overhaul. Ideal for hardcore mode enthusiasts who enjoy managing radiation, hydration, and addictions. Skip if you prefer vanilla balance or use lighter tweak mods.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • In Hardcore mode, keep extra water and food on you; FOD/H2O values are higher across the board.
  • Watch your radiation intake; most consumables now irradiate you, so pack RadAway.
  • Place this mod after other consumable or gameplay overhauls in your load order to avoid conflicts.
