Animal Sounds

This mod adds various animal sounds to the exterior wasteland. It

also fixes Ambient Wasteland 2.

This is also a fixed and edited version of Ambient Wasteland 2 for

The original mod for Fallout 3 worked perfectly. But the FNV version

never worked at all. In New Vegas, Bethesda added their own (very

similar) ambient animal sounds. The AW2 mod for FNV does not use the

right folders and the sounds were never played. Instead, the vanilla

sounds are played and many people mistook these sounds for the sounds

from AW2. I have fixed this by putting the sounds into the right

This mod contains ONLY the animal sounds from the above mentioned

mods, like barking dogs, howling wolves, etc., because I personally

don't much care for the distant gunfire and such. I also added some

new sounds like growling cougars and bobcats.

The original sounds were stereo for the most part. Stereo files don't

have distance, which means they will always play at the same volume

level and do not fade if you pass by them. I changed most of the

files to mono, which means you will hear them at different volume

levels now. I also have tried to give all sounds more sane volume

levels and removed some sounds with too much echo.

There is also an optional file to disable the constantly gushing winds

and distant rumble, which becomes rather annoying after a while.

With this optional file you can set the music to very low volume and you

will still be able to hear it, and this gives the game a different feel.

These mods have no ESP. They simply add or replace various sound files.
