📋 About This Mod
This is a free and open-source program for the NWN community. Role Weaver is an AI-assisted roleplay client for Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition, built for both players and Dungeon Masters.
Description
Role Weaver is a persistent character and roleplay assistant for Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition.
Its purpose is to help players and Dungeon Masters maintain consistent characters over long-running roleplay. Role Weaver follows the NWN conversation log and builds a persistent model of your character or NPC, including their memories, relationships, personality, speaking style, knowledge, goals, and current roleplay context.
An LLM is used as the interface to that character system. Rather than simply sending recent chat to an AI and asking for a reply, Role Weaver supplies relevant character history, relationships, known information, lore, and personality context before generating a response.
Generated dialogue remains under your control. Role Weaver can place a suggested response into the NWN chat box, but it leaves the message unsent so you can edit, rewrite, discard, or send it yourself.
The goal is not to have AI play your character for you. The goal is to make long-running characters easier to remember, portray, and keep consistent.
Role Weaver can be used by both players and Dungeon Masters, and can be especially useful for persistent-world roleplay where characters or NPCs may accumulate months or years of history.

Main features
Persistent character memory
Role Weaver can identify important events and conversations and preserve them as longer-term character memories.
Instead of relying only on the most recent lines of chat, future responses can use relevant events from previous sessions.
Relationship tracking
Role Weaver keeps track of recurring characters and how your relationship with them develops.
This can include friendship, distrust, rivalry, gratitude, obligations, authority, affection, conflict, and other important history.
Consistent personality and voice
Each character can have their own:
-
[]Personality[/]
[]Speaking style[/]
[]Vocabulary[/]
[]Background[/]
[]Beliefs[/]
[]Goals[/]
[]Relationships[/]
[]Secrets[/]
[]Roleplay rules[/]
Character knowledge control
Role Weaver lets you define what your character knows and, importantly, what they do not know.
Lore and character information can be separated by server or character, helping prevent generated dialogue from using information the character should not realistically possess.
Persistent roleplay context
Role Weaver maintains useful context across play sessions, including:
-
[]Character memories[/]
[]Relationship records[/]
[]Conversation history[/]
[]Session summaries[/]
[]Current Guidance[/]
[]Server-specific lore[/]
Temporary Guidance lets you tell Role Weaver how the character should behave during the current scene without changing their permanent character profile.
For example:
The character is exhausted and unusually impatient tonight. Keep responses shorter and less playful.or:
