During resource consolidation, it was discovered with astonishment that while this emerging power possessed the world's longest coastline, its naval strength had been depleted by decades of continuous disasters. The development of new warships thus became imperative. In 2092, the Future Warship Program (FWP) was launched, inviting bids from all member states. Subsequently, China's Dalian Shipyard, Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Russia's Severnaya Verf Shipyard jointly commenced construction of the first 12 Type 061 destroyers. Designed for a unique historical context, the Type 061 stealth destroyer incorporates extensive design elements from the Type 055 destroyer—a proven and excellent platform. Building upon this foundation, the Type 061 enhances firepower, upgrades radar and propulsion systems, and further optimizes its profile to reduce radar cross-section while improving survivability. The lead ship, An Shan (PLANS An Shan), was launched at Dalian Shipyard in 2096. After completing sea trials the following year, it was immediately deployed to hotspots in the Indian Ocean.
