It simulates pressing the "Import Music Files" button after the main menu loads. Your mouse has to be on-screen for it to work, which it should be anyway from clicking "I Understand" (but it may be important once the game is no longer Early Access).
For multiple file type supports + automatic importing, there is the Toiveradio mod. If you have Toiveradio installed, you don't need this.
