📋 About This Mod
This is an edited item_kinds1.txt file that adds all of the Khergit and Steppe style armours to the inventories of armour merchants. This means that if you want to play as a Khergit, you can now look more like a Khergit. It includes a full set (body, head and leg armour) of the old "Khergit Guard Armour", which now offers slightly increased protection compared to previous versions of this mod. It also adds 13 more Khergit type helmets and leather caps, including the third variant of the Leather Steppe Cap that was removed in the retail version (type 'c'). This mod now includes 3 special styles of helmet (an Ornate Khergit Helmet, a Khergit Helmet with Leather Cap, and a Khergit Helmet with Wrapping) using some of the old 'bonus' helmet models. Each item has been balanced with the native items in terms of price, weight, strength requirement, and protection values. Most of the items that are modded in have an abundance rating lower than 100 so they won't clog up the shops too much. This mod also rebalances some of the native armours - the price of the Leather Warrior Cap has been increased, since it was too cheap for the protection it offers. The Nomad Armour and Khergit Armour now both have a body protection rating of 20, and are priced the same. The Nomad Vest has had its protection value increased, and will now be more common in shops (increased abundance from 50 to 100). The Leather Steppe Cap variants have had their order of effectiveness reversed (the leather cap with the turned up flaps now gives the lowest protection). The Nomad Robe now weighs 12. 0 instead of 14. 0. As a bonus, Khergit Arrows have now been made a more common shop item (increased abundance from 30 to 50). All of these changes have been made to make the equipment (mostly for a Khergit player) more logically balanced (in my opinion). This mod will work on your current game, there is no need to start a new one for the mod to work. However, you will need to wait for the merchants to refresh their stocks before they begin to sell the new items. This normally takes about 1 or 2 days of game time. All changes to existing items' stats will take effect immediately. IMPORTANT WARNING! This mod adds an extra item to the item_kinds1.txt file, meaning there are 434 items listed. This causes problems if you save the game while using the Khergit Armour mod file, but then revert to the original item_kinds1.txt file which uses 433 item entries. In my experience, your save will now only work with a 434 item file. Don't worry too much, though, as you can work around this problem by simply adding a 434th item to the item_kinds1.txt file you want to use. Detailed instructions on how to do this are included in the readme. Installation Download the Khergit Armour.zip file and extract the mod file (called 'khergit item_kinds1.txt') to your "\Mount&Blade\Modules\Native" folder. It should also work perfectly well with any mod that uses only the native items.
