📋 About This Mod
This is a Warband compatible map editor alpha release (still a work in progress, and not yet feature complete). Alpha 5 update Import/Export of maps and module_parties files has been implemented -Self explanatory... if you don't know what module_parties is, research the module system on the forums. Without knowing the basics of how to use the module system, the settlement editing features here will be useless to you. Location and "direction" of settlements can now be changed (also name and icon type for convenience, but these are just as easily edited in module_parties directly) -This addition means the first "practical" feature has finally been added. If you're interested in moving (or 'rotating') most or all settlements on the map to different locations on the otherwise 'vanilla' map, you should be able to do this now via import/export of module_parties files. Basic terrain painting -At the moment land terrain can only be painted with land-terrain types, and the same goes for water in reverse -This does not include altitude/height adjustments yet -"Low-level" editing such as vertex movement, vertex creation, etc. is not implemented A few different rendering modes: -M&B style (emulates the game's appearance as close as possible) -Blended "simple" textures (designed to show terrain type, with blending, to approximate how terrain weights interact visually) -Non-blended terrain faces (designed to show terrain type without blending, useful for painting mountain terrain and presumably determining what type of battlefield type a particular area will utilize) Also some toggle rendering modes: -Hide/show shadows -Hide/show settlements -Hide/show wireframe Note: mountain terrain is weighted very weakly in order to simulate how the game renders mountains. In other words, you'll need to paint a larger area in order for mountain terrain to really show up visually because the other terrain types have a higher priority. So if it seems like mountain terrain doesn't show up, keep trying--it does work. It'll probably be much easier to "paint" mountain terrain in non-blended terrain mode. To test, extract the zip file and either run the .bat file (will run with a console in the back) or click on the .jar file to execute as runnable jar (for this to work you have to have .jar files set to open with javaw.exe), which doesn't show console/debug output. Right now if you're looking to help you can do the following: -To begin with--does it start up at all? -Compatibility testing with various Windows OSes (32 vs 64 bit, 7/Vista/XP) -Performance testing (greatly improved since the last version due to an entirely new engine and redesign) -Bugs/crashes - stability testing -Camera navigation: use WASD keys to move, mouse wheel to change camera height (similar to how the game's camera works). Also Numpad +/- and Q/Z will change the camera's angle. Holding shift down while using WASD movement keys ma
