📋 About This Mod
The original city of Sotha Sil is essentially a long empty tube. I went through all thirteen maps and added as much life as possible into them. To call it a city would still be a stretch, but with these changes, you can certainly feel that it has been lived in. I also added clutter in a manner where it looks like Almalexia carved a path of destruction through the city to get to Sotha Sil.
Tested on OMW and vanilla. (There are audio glitches in vanilla, mainly sounds being way louder.)
If you want to test this mod without doing the main quests, you can skip them using these console commands. (Note that doing the quest this way may cause the congratulations at the end of the quest to glitch and not properly appear.)
-
[]Journal TR_MazedBand 90 ;Enable dialogue to speak with Almalexia
[
]COC, "Mournhold Temple: High Chapel"[]Journal TR_SothaSil 10 ; Almalexia wishes to send you to Sotha Sil
[]Then talk to her.
- COC, "Sotha Sil, Outer Flooded Halls" ;But it doesn't put you in quite the right spot to begin the dungeon.
One major change I did was remove all of the door levers and put a script in the doors. So you can now activate doors by interacting with them directly. (I have always hated hunting for the door levers.)
I didn't make any puzzles, sorry!
The list of maps edited and what they are themed for: (Spoilers!)
1. Sotha Sil, Outer Flooded Halls - Is now a properly flooded hall. Themed to be a water pumping station. (I got rid of the swinging axes.)
2. Sotha Sil, Inner Flooded Halls - Is now a properly flooded hall. Themed to be a hydroponics lab (growing food using water). Contains "potion-able" pairs of ingredients.
3. Sotha Sil, Hall of Delirium - Is now a mess hall (cafeteria). Features nutrient dispensers. (The food inside respawns). (I got rid of the spike floor trap.)
4. Sotha Sil, Central Gearworks - Is now a research laboratory.
5. Sotha Sil, Chamber of Sohleh - Is now a sleeping quarters.
6. Sotha Sil, Hall of Theuda - Is now a magic shop, featuring some new NPCs.
7. Sotha Sil, Dome of Kasia - Is now a library. Is also partially on fire. (I got rid of the spinning wheel of death.)
8. Sotha Sil, Dome of Serlyn - Just spruced it up a bit. Its got more of a TSA security guard post thing going on now. (Moved the monster spawner to another map.)
9. Sotha Sil, Hall of Sallaemu - I turned it into a big open flooded cave (with bridges!) to give it that big old underground city feel.
10. Sotha Sil, Dome of Udok - Not much change to the original. Added stairs in case you fall in the lava pit so you can walk out. Added a "secret" room with a door to Tel Fyr.
11. Sotha Sil, Hall of Mileitho - I turned it into a fabricant assembly facility. Now there's a place that makes sense for where they are coming from.
12. Sotha Sil, D

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Breathes new life into a famously sparse location (29 endorsements).

- Lightweight and focused: just the city, no extra baggage.
⚠️ Cons
- Small mod with limited reach (29 endorsements) — may not be on many radars.
- No screenshots or detailed description—you're going in blind.
- Last updated in December 2024—could be outdated if you're on a newer patch.
For Morrowind veterans who've always wanted Sotha Sil to feel more like a real city. If you're a lore purist who wants visual flair without straying from the original design, this is for you. Skip if you're after gameplay changes—this is purely environmental.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a Morrowind mod, make sure you have the Tribunal expansion installed—Sotha Sil is part of that.
- Use a mod manager like Wrye Mash or Mod Organizer 2 to keep your load order clean.
- If you're using OpenMW, this mod should work fine, but always test after installation.
