📋 About This Mod
"The vast Volcano of Tamriel, this giant mountain dominates the north of Morrowind. It is a small continent all to itself, riven from the rest of Morrowind by the remains of a colossal crater [...] Legend attributes its birth to the fall of a god to earth [...]" — Pocket Guide to the Empire, First Edition
Terrain in the RM region has been raised along with all statics, meaning that this mod should be playable for main quest gameplay as no dungeons are blocked off underground. (though some may need levitation to reach)
This is a first release beta, it should be playable and work but occasionally you may encounter floating objects. Also I made this while using Taddeus On The Rocks so it's fine tuned to those meshes, shouldn't cause issues but if they're very different than vanilla it could lead to a significant number of floating rocks (untested).
This mod is incompatible with Memento Mori, C. A. G. E, probably BCOM and others, I don't have time to patch them but would appreciate it if someone more experienced than me made a patch.
Taitechnic has made a patch for their amazing mod "dynamic ambient visual effects" to work with The Red Tower, find it here:

The Red Tower - Red Mountain Terrain Overhaul reshapes Red Mountain in Morrowind, raising its height and altering its silhouette for a more realistic look, all without moving or removing any static objects. With 39 endorsements and 699 downloads, this compact overhaul appeals to players seeking a visual upgrade to a iconic landmark.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Pure terrain reshaping—no static placement means no conflicts with other mods that add objects
- Aesthetic improvement to a iconic landmark without overhauling the whole game
- Lightweight and focused (39 endorsements, 699 downloads) for a niche visual tweak
⚠️ Cons
- Low endorsement count (39) suggests limited community testing
- No screenshots or detailed description provided—you're flying blind on the visual result
- Last updated September 2025—may not be compatible with future Morrowind patches or mods that alter Red Mountain
For Morrowind players who want a more imposing, realistic Red Mountain without overhauling the entire landscape. If you're a purist who avoids mods that add or remove objects, this terrain-only change fits your style. Skip if you prefer lore-friendly vanilla shapes or want more dramatic landscape changes.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since this mod only alters terrain, it should be safe to install with most mods, but load it after any mods that change the same area to ensure its height changes apply.
- Use a mod manager like Wrye Mash or Mod Organizer 2 to easily toggle this mod on/off if you want to compare the new Red Mountain shape.
- If you're using Morrowind Code Patch or OpenMW, verify compatibility—terrain edits can sometimes conflict with distant land generation.
