📋 About This Mod
The Dark Brotherhood Attacks
Introduction
This adds a new quest arc to Tribunal that replaces the randomized Dark Brotherhood attacks. Now the Dark Brotherhood have a very well thought-out plan that will take you into the depths of the completely overhauled Arys Ancestral Tomb. By the end of this new quest, you'll be quite angry and feel compelled to chase the Dark Brotherhood back to Mournhold and confront them for revenge.
Features
-
[]A new quest arc.[/]
[]A better start to Tribunal[/]
[]A personality for Dandras Vules [/]
[]Development for Apelles Mutius[/]
[]An overhauled Arys Ancestral Tomb[/]
[]& Stays lore-friendly to the expansion[/]
Starting the Quest
First, one of the following criteria must be met:
- Vivec has given you Wraithguard
- Or Vivec is dead and you have 20 or greater reputation
Then, you'll be given a heads-up Harlin Arys is looking for you from publicans across Vvardenfell.
Otherwise, if you're a mid-ranked or greater member of the following guilds, their quest-givers may give you a heads-up Harlin Arys is looking for you too:
- Fighters Guild
- Imperial Legion
The pre-requisites were added as the events of Tribunal reference the player as the Nerevarine, or at the very least, as a great threat. Adding these pre-requisites therefore fix the lore inconsistency.
To test the mod out, open your test character and type "Journal B8_MeetVivec 50". But, please note this will be more difficult to complete on a test character than an actual playthrough, as actual playthroughs would have inventories full of scrolls and potions useful to this mod.
Why?
On-Rest attacks don't make much sense as you can rest in any of these locations and the Dark Brotherhood will find you:
- Dagoth Ur's Citadel
- Vivec, Arena Hidden Area
- Bloodmoon: Mortrag Glacier
- Tamriel Rebuilt: Khalaan (Oblivion)
- Tamriel Rebuilt: The Space Gone Missing
The list gets sillier if you use adventurous quest mods. Now, obviously instead there could be a mod that constantly blacklists locations as mods add them, but also consider the stupidity of just endlessly sending random assassins to chase the player across the world and beyond, endlessly provoking them until they inevitably chase the mastermind down.
It just makes so much more sense for them to have an actual plan of attack, which is why this mod exists.
Compatibility
This mod replaces the randomized Dark Brotherhood attacks in Tribunal with a new quest arc featuring a well-thought-out plan that leads into the completely overhauled Arys Ancestral Tomb. It's for Morrowind players who want a more structured and story-driven experience with the Dark Brotherhood.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Small but active community (47 endorsements, 3,582 downloads).
- Replaces a random mechanic with a structured quest, which is a fresh take.
- Overhauled dungeon adds new exploration value.
⚠️ Cons

💡 Beginner Tips
- If you're using a mod manager like Wrye Mash or Mod Organizer 2, install this mod as a separate mod and activate it after Tribunal.
- Make sure you have the Tribunal expansion installed and activated before starting the quest.
- Consider using a mod that cleans the Arys Ancestral Tomb if you have other overhauls that touch it.
