Teris Raledran's House

A Man and His Guar is a short quest about guarding a merchant, Teris Raledran, with his guar while he travels to the city of Vivec.

Just like many Morrowind characters whom you meet in the wilderness, he has no home. So, this mod adds his house in Pelagiad.

This mod is not designed to provide you with new adventures, quests, or rewards. Rather, it builds around a vanilla adventure, realistically expanding its background. Though, I may add new content in future updates.

Morrowind game design musings

Unlike TES 2: Daggerfall, the world of Morrowind is scaled-down. Meaning, some world details were sacrificed in order to portray a relatively big, handcrafted game world. Some of these details include houses for non-important characters and people who are not found in settlements. Obviously, it would break the game if we add a house to every house-less NPC in Morrowind. But Construction Set gives us potential to add content in modules that could be plugged-in based on the player's desire to see certain things in their game. With this mod, you can unlock this bit of content.

Mod contents

• []A new house in Pelagiad with small stables for a guar.

  []A new NPC - Lerani Raledran, Teris's wife, who tends to the house while her husband travels.

  []New dialogue for both NPCs.

  []New scripts that make Teris and Rollie appear at their house before the quest. They also move them home when the quest ends.

  []All fail states and character deaths are accounted for in dialogue (that's why there's so much dialogue). But if you find a bug, please, report!

  []Exterior edits in Pelagiad 0, -8 include fixes to vanilla bugs - jagged terrain fix, floating bush fix, addition of some rocks, dark shading, pathgrid, - and of course the house.

  Compatibility

  • []Friends Reunited by VonDjango - this mod adds unique voiced conversations to several vanilla NPCs during their quests. Including Teris and Agrippina Herennia. Building on Teris's conversation in this mod, I created a wife for him.

    []Should be compatible with Pelagiad mods, including Beautiful Cities of Morrowind. If there are conflicts with something, please, inform me.

    []The mod does not fix the bugs of the original quest and assumes that you have some sort of unofficial patch already fixing them. Specifically, the bug that prevents you from finishing the quest if Rollie dies mid-travel. But the mod works around this issue by moving Teris home after you finish the portion of the quest that's possible to finish after Rollie's death. Teris and Lerani will react to Rollie's death in their home dialogue too.
