📋 About This Mod
This is essentially a toned down version of Random Pal's Atmospheric South Wall Cornerclub, which in turn was a toned down version of Balathustrius South Wall Den Of Iniquity.
What does this mod do?
-
[]I got rid of the dancers and their sleeping quarters. - I get the idea, but I feel having another dance club, takes away from the uniqueness of Desele's House in Suran and it feels a bit too much for Balmora to me
[
]I got rid of all animated NPCs and their schedules. - This is mainly for compatability reasons with OpenMW, as I can't get Animated Morrowind to work with it without some jank.[]All extra NPCs and their dialogue are gone. Only the vanilla Npcs remain, though I did shuffle them around a bit.
[]Habasis Backroom is just behind the kitchen area. Less running through extensive stair wells and storage areas to get to your quest giver.
[]I added a balcony similar to Seedier Eight Plates, now when entering South Wall you can get a glimpse of what's going on below.
[]Some visual changes depending on your progress in the Thieves Guild quests. - like having Hecerinde change cells to protect the South Wall from actually inside the South Wall. Remember Bragor and his fancy shoes? Yeah he shows up too if you rescue him.
Compatability
Bards of Vvardenfell should be loaded after South Wall - A Thieves Guild Hideout.
Odai Lifeblood of Balmora - includes it's own replacer version
BCOM - compatible.
Credits
Credits go to Random Pal and Balathustrius on whose excellent work I simply put my own little reworks to fit my personal taste. Aswell as to anyone contributing to OOAB and TR. Amazing work and full of invaluable ressources and assets.
Permissions
Completely free to use from my end, but since I'm standing on the shoulders of giants credits ought to be given where they are due.
Cleaned with tes3cmd & ME - big thank you to Danae for her tutorial series!
A small-scale redesign of the Atmospheric South Wall Cornerclub for OpenMW, adding a thieves guild hideout feel. With 49 endorsements and 3,271 downloads, it's a niche cosmetic overhaul that avoids animations for compatibility. Suitable for players wanting a subtle, lore-friendly touch to their Morrowind experience.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- OpenMW compatible without animation dependencies, so it won't break your mod setup
- Niche but appreciated by a small community (49 endorsements, 3.2k downloads)
- Adds a thieves guild flavor to a classic Morrowind location without overhauling the whole game
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated January 2025 — could be outdated if you're on a newer OpenMW version, but likely fine
- Small scope means it only touches one cornerclub, not a full faction overhaul
- No screenshots or detailed description provided, so you're going in blind
For Morrowind players who want a subtle, immersive tweak to a specific location without breaking OpenMW compatibility. If you're a thief-themed roleplayer or just want a fresh take on the South Wall, this is a quick add. Skip if you're looking for major gameplay changes or a full guild questline.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's OpenMW-friendly, just drop the files into your OpenMW data directory or use a mod manager like MO2 with OpenMW support.
- If you're using the original Morrowind engine, double-check that the mod doesn't rely on OpenMW-specific features, though it claims no animations.
- Load order shouldn't matter much for a single-cell edit, but place it after other mods that alter the same cornerclub to avoid conflicts.
