📋 About This Mod
This mod should be useful in case of dialog conflicts/problems in quest progression.
Press Shift while activating an actor to log to MWSE.log/paste to clipboard the next dialog greeting/voice INFO triggered by that actor.
You can selectively enable the logging of dialog voices for the currently pointed actor.
Note that having the "Log only current player target voices" option disabled could spam the log in crowded places
when several NPCs are greeting the player at the same time,
so better keep it enabled (Yes) during normal gameplay/when the information is not needed.
Same for logging specific Voice types, if you don't need them logged during normal gameplay set the related button to "No"
Also if you set the Log Level 3 or higher it should log some data without needing the key combos, useful to debug dialog,
just remember to set the Log level back for normal playing.
If you think you are blocked in some quest because you can't find the proper highlighted
topic to click and progress, you can try using the Ctrl + Shift + click a dialog topic option
to try and add hidden/overridden topics to player known topics list.
Don't use this option liberally/without reason/without a previous save backup though, as you could make available
early some topic that was not meant to be available until a certain quest stage, potentially causing opposite problems.

Smart Topics is a small Morrowind utility mod that lets you log dialog topic INFOs to the clipboard or MWSE.log by holding Shift while clicking a topic or activating an actor. It also supports Ctrl+Shift for additional logging. With 14 endorsements and 360 downloads, it's a niche tool for modders and debuggers.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny utility that does exactly what it says—no bloat, just quick dialog logging.
- Useful for mod authors debugging dialogue or for players who want to capture lore text.
- Active as of late 2025, so it's likely compatible with current MWSE builds.
⚠️ Cons
- Very niche—only 14 endorsements, so it's not widely tested by the community.
- Description is incomplete; the Ctrl+Shift feature is cut off, leaving its function unclear.
- Requires MWSE (Morrowind Script Extender) to work, which adds a dependency for users.
For Morrowind modders and tinkerers who need to quickly grab dialog text for reference or debugging. Also handy for lore hunters who want to copy in-game dialogue without typing it out. Skip if you're a casual player looking for gameplay changes—this is a behind-the-scenes tool.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure MWSE is installed and up to date, as this mod relies on it.
- Test the Shift-click on a topic in a dialogue window to see the clipboard output.
- Use the MWSE.log option if you want to keep a record of multiple greetings without overwriting your clipboard.
