📋 About This Mod

Overpowered Magic Fix. Illegal and realistic Necromancy. Restricted Levitation. Nerfed summoning. Capped casting that drains Fatigue. SlowFall Fix. All is optional. OpenMW

____________

Let's introduce a little thing called "common sense" to Vvardenfell.

Each feature is a menu option

General

Sane Magic Cap

Your magical skill now dictates what you can cast. If you try to unleash a 100-point fire damage nuke with a Destruction skill of 50, you'll just wave your hands dramatically and fail. Because that's how magic should work — competence matters.

You can’t cast spells if their power or duration exceeds your skill level in the relevant magic school.

Two options for scrolls and enchanted items:

  • []Magnitude and duration check Intelligence instead of Magic school[/]

[]Magnitude checks Intelligence, duration checks Willpower. But spells without a magnitude now require Intelligence 40[/]

For variable magnitude, the requirement is the average of min and max values.

Example: Fire Damage 5–50 --> (5 + 50) ÷ 2 = 28 required skill/stat.

Exceptions:

o  powers, abilities, spells with Always Successful flag

o  weaklings: Disintegrate, Burden

o  radius: Detect, Telekinesis

o  advanced healing: Cure Common Disease (50), Cure Blight Disease (75)

There's a menu option that lifts the cap upon hitting 100.

Spellcasting Drains Fatigue

In vanilla Morrowind, a warrior swings a sword: loses Fatigue, misses if tired, chugs potions like an alcoholic at a wedding. A mage stands perfectly still, fires a spell that does twice the damage of any weapon, never misses, and loses zero Fatigue. How is that fair?

Now casting drains your stamina. The formula uses Agility — that stat pure mages never touch, while every other build levels it to at least 50 to hit stuff and gain physical protection. What happens to a mage who dumped Agility? Now they gas out after a couple of fireballs.

Clumsy: FatigueCost % = (50 - Agility) * your multiplier

Destro: Only Destruction spells drain Fatigue--based on their Magicka cost and your Destruction skill.

If your multiplier is 1, then:

| Destruction Skill | Mana Cost ≤30 | Mana Cost 31–75 | Mana Cost 76+ |

| ≤30                       | 20%                   | 50%                        | 95%  |

| 31–59                   | 15%                   | 40%                        | 85%  |

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Optional features mean you can tailor the magic changes to your playstyle.
  • Tamriel Rebuilt support is a big plus for fans of that massive expansion.
  • Russian translation included, so it's accessible to a wider audience.

⚠️ Cons

  • Low endorsement count (32) suggests it's a niche mod with limited community testing.
  • No detailed documentation provided, so you'll have to figure out the exact changes in-game.
  • Last updated in August 2026, but no guarantee it works with the latest OpenMW builds.
🎯 Is This For You?
For Morrowind players who want magic to feel more grounded and less overpowered, especially those who enjoy role-playing consequences. If you're a purist who likes vanilla magic, skip this. Also great for Tamriel Rebuilt explorers who want consistent magic rules across the new lands.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Since all features are optional, start by enabling only the ones that appeal to you, like necromancy restrictions, to see how they affect gameplay.
  • If you use Tamriel Rebuilt, make sure to load this mod after TR to ensure compatibility.
  • Check the mod's forum or comments for player feedback on balance, as the description doesn't detail every change.
