I AM NOT THE AUTHOR OF THIS MOD
The author is Leon "pancreas" Medado. I put the mod here to save it from a possible loss.
I just made these light modifications:
- i lowered 4 wind sounds (fognoise.wav, lowwind.wav, wind_lt.wav, wind_vlt.wav (in Sound/Fx/envrn/)); the 4 .bak are the original files
- i cleaned the esp with tes3cmd clean
Additional information:
- This mod isn't a patch (contrary to the author note): all is there.
- To install, read also the v1. 5 readme (modifications of morrowind.ini (or, if OpenMW, of openmw.cfg)).
I think it's better to put it in the begining of your load order.
It's a "simple" and efficient mod.
Personally, contrary to the author recommendation, i don't add the Wilderness Sounds Mod, but the Birds and Crickets mod (and i desactivate the criquets...).

Furthermore, i recommend Aaron's Ambient Rain Replacer for Morrowind and Aaron's Ambient_Thunder Replacer for Morrowind (to put after Morrowind Sound Enhancement in the load order).
Morrowind Sound Enhancement adds new region-specific ambient sounds, including swamp life and winds, with no birds or crickets except in Mournhold. A small audio mod with 24 endorsements, last updated in February 2023.
