📋 About This Mod
Description
A custom PBR shader iterating on Wareya's PBR to add random features I wanted and maintain consistency with Rafael's PBR with my POM's support for parallax shadows, landscape AO, and subsurface scattering. Designed for use alongside Dynamic OpenMW Seasons for added functionality.
Installation instructions
Backup your core shaders in your OpenMW install directory and overwrite them with the appropriate 0. 50 or 0. 51 shaders. The Rafael water fork is a separate download with it's own installation and requires Rafael's water to work.
To use the additional features that require Lua please refer to the installation of my Seasons Mod.
Main features
Summary:
- Full PBR rendering from Wareya's PBR with standard features therein
- Parallax Occlusion Mapping (Me)
- Parallax Soft Shadows (Rafael)
- Parallax AO estimation for terrain (Me + Rafael, setting for LOD based (mine), or 4-tap AO (Rafael's) in parallax.glsl)
- Parallax Shadow Offset (Wareya)
- Simple SSS (Me/Rafael)
- Skin Shaders SSS (Me)
- Rafael's Raymarched water with my added foam texture (requires Rafael's water shader)
- Hooks into Dynamic Seasons for snow accumulation, seasonal color shift on terrain/groundcover, and rain wetness accumulation
- Bonus improvements to fake metal and water reflections when using Dynamic Seasons
Full Explanation:
This includes various features from Rafael's and Wareya's PBR as well as special hooks for my season mod. It includes all the base features of Wareya's PBR + the parallax shadow offset experiment. In addition it includes my POM, Rafael's 4-tap AO or mey LOD based AO + a modified version of Rafael's parallax shadows adapted for my POM (same thing that's in my POM for Rafael's shaders), it also includes an alternate subsurface scattering system I designed for skin textures to look better. Objects without darkmaps but with SSS (in the spec alpha channel) will have a simple translucency style SSS designed for stuff like foliage. If an object has a darkmap it triggers as skin SSS shader with tuned values, it's designed to use small single pixel red darkmaps, that will be available in my Galleo's SSS replacement pack. Darkmaps function normally whenever SSS is off, so for textures that need areas without SSS and areas with, I would set the non-SSS areas to 254/255, this is what I do for eyes/teeth/hair to avoid triggering darkmaps but still have SSS in general.
The changes to Rafael's water include the addition of foam, the use
A fork of Wareya's PBR mod, integrating experimental features, POM, SSS, and adjustments for parity with Rafael's PBR, plus weather accumulation support and a modified version of Rafael's Water. For players seeking enhanced visual fidelity in their game.
