📋 About This Mod
Ebony Armour Retexture v4. 0 Open MW Edition
Once more, I have upgraded my mod for Ebony Armour..more slight changes this time,
Development progress
Version 1 was a straight retexture using screens from skyrim and various photographic sources to reimagine the ebony armour and shield set
Version 2 swapped out the ebony cuirass skirt and cape mesh for a modified orcish cuirass mesh and all textures were reworked,
Version 2. 3 takes the ebony shield and puts it the right way up,It was upside down...at least in my data folder anyway. I also changed the seating of the pauldrons slightly and made the boots a little wider,,.. Also all meshes have been given a slight sheen of reflectivity.... Also I made a new texture for the shield handles.
Version 2. 4 is a bugfix ,so thanks to Madwatz for the heads up
Now the ground models of the greaves and the Cuirass and pauldron should show no texture errors at all...
Version 3. 0 Gold Edition was given a major overhaul,All ebony armor, shields and helmet textures were reworked so that they had Gold trim of some sort, and were less black so easier to see.... The results I felt were a welcome change and brought the mod more in line with the original idea of the Ebony set. It looked less less like Skyrim ebony now..and more like what I thought the Morrowind devs intended.
Which brings me to this version,Version 4.
This version is intended for Open MW only ... I have not yet tested it on vanilla Morrowind.. So,do yourself a favor and download Open MW.google it.and download the latest release, install it and point it to your morrowind directory...
In order for the specular and bumps to appear by default... Go into your Open MW folder, and look for a file called "Settings- Default.cfg"
Open it with notepad, and under the Shaders section, find and set the following...
force shaders = true
auto use object normal maps = true
auto use object specular maps = true
The biggest changes for this version, are the specular and bump maps for all pieces of ebony armor.. But I have made various slight edits to Meshes,UVs and textures,in order to tweak the overall experience..
Mod will overwrite previous versions and any ebony replacers.
Ready for installation just drop Data Files into your Morrowind Directory,,
Full set of ebony armour can be found if you open console and type in "coc toddtest" without the quotes.. Just check around for a chest of all Morrowind armours..

💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's for OpenMW, make sure you're running OpenMW, not the original Morrowind executable.
- Drop the mod's files into your OpenMW data directory or use a mod manager like MO2 to keep things tidy.
- Check the mod's file structure to ensure textures and meshes overwrite correctly — if you see missing textures, verify the folder paths.
