📋 About This Mod
inom – User interface hider
Just another MWSE-lua mod
– Features
Hides the interface, when you probably don't need it!
Whenever your hands are idle, you're out of combat, not doing much or travelling the roads - the interface hides.
Draw a weapon, use a potion, cast a spell, open the inventory, the interface shows itself again for a short while.
Enter sneak, look at an item, draw your bow back - the crosshair shows itself; so you can target stuff with precision.
While sneaking, the sneak icon will show/hide as normal based on your hidden status.
In combat or with low health - the interface is never hidden.
If you're using Ashfall - the interface is never hidden while resting, so you can watch your health regen process.
* There's also a configurable toggle hotkey (default Alt-X) to disable hiding the interface for three minutes.
– Installation
Requirements
MGE XE v0. 13. 4 or later - which comes with MWSE v2. 1
Installation
Just place the contents of the zip file into your "Data Files" folder, there is no .esp-file to activate.
– Compatibility
Other mods with their own rulesets for showing and hiding the GUI are not compatible as the functionality would double up.
Mods changing or extending the crosshair should be compatible, as long as they use the "MultiMenu" to attach their crosshairs
All the crosshair-mods I tested do exactly that.
Recommended mods
I personally use:

Alex's Crosshair Replacer by AngryKarakuri
As well as my other user interface mods:

– Background
I love clean user interfaces, the less clutter the better. I know there are some mods who already try to fix this, but I often ended up either struggling to pick up a coin or a ring - because I had no crosshair. Or I was unable to target properly with my bow out of combat, not getting in that crucial "first hit". This is my attempt to solve hiding the GUI by having a l
inom is a compact UI hider for Skyrim that toggles the interface based on a ruleset, allowing you to hide everything, show everything, or display only the crosshair. With 46 endorsements and last updated in 2021, it's a niche utility for players who want a cleaner screen during gameplay.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Simple and effective for immersion—clears the screen when you're just exploring or in dialogue.
- Ruleset-based approach gives you control over when the UI disappears, not just an all-or-nothing toggle.
- Lightweight mod with a focused purpose—no bloat, just UI hiding.
⚠️ Cons
- Last updated in 2021—might not be compatible with the latest Skyrim version or other UI mods.
- Only 46 endorsements, so it's a niche tool that hasn't been widely tested.
- No documentation on how to configure the ruleset—you'll have to figure it out yourself.
For Skyrim players who want a cleaner screen for screenshots or immersive play, especially those who find the default UI cluttered. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or if you use complex UI overhauls that might conflict.
💡 Beginner Tips
- If you use a mod manager like Vortex or MO2, install it through that to keep track of files.
- Test the ruleset in different situations (combat, dialogue, exploration) to see how it behaves.
- Check if your other UI mods (like SkyUI) are compatible—this mod might hide their elements too.
