📋 About This Mod
This mod has been superseded by Bullseye - Marksman Overhaul.
Features
Headshots
To successfully land a headshot, you just need to:
-
[]Hit the enemy in the top of their hitbox (default: top 85%)
[
]Be far enough from the enemy (default: 1000 units)
Creatures (in simple terms, actors who cannot wear armor) cannot be headshot, since I'm not tracking head position and their heads tend to be all over the place.
Simple Yet Flexible Damage Calculation
Final damage multiplier is a sum of two parts:
-
[]Damage multiplier formula
[
]Linear -> FlatMultiplier + AttackerMarksman MarksmanMultiplier[
]Threshold -> FlatMultiplier + (AttackerMarksman // step) MarksmanMultiplier (// = integer division)[
]Instakill -> math.huge (with exceptions)[]Damage multiplier per 1000 units
-> distance Dmg/1000units
So the result is:
Final Mult = (Dmg Mult Formula) + (distance Dmg/1000units)
Make Headshots That Suit You!
Everything in the mod is configurable - and I mean it.

[]Want to instakill, but only from far away? That's possible too.

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Simple and effective—no bloat, just headshots
- Small but active community (35 endorsements, 656 downloads)
- Recently updated (January 2026), so likely works with current OpenMW
⚠️ Cons
- Only 35 endorsements—might be under-tested
- No detailed documentation on damage multiplier values
- Limited to humanoids—no effect on creatures or vehicles
For OpenMW players who want a bit more realism in combat without overhauling the whole game. If you're a sharpshooter who loves rewarding precision, this is for you. Skip if you prefer vanilla combat or want more complex mechanics.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you're using OpenMW, not the original Morrowind engine—this mod won't work there.
- Test the headshot hitbox on a dummy or weak enemy to get a feel for the extra damage.
- Since it's a simple mod, you can easily remove it if you don't like the balance—just delete the files.
