📋 About This Mod

First, I want to thank everyone who is standing up for Ukraine in this difficult time. Last year at this time we had no electricity or heat. It was winter. And now I can make grass mods in a warm and light room. And it's all thanks to you. I also want to thank Nexus for its psychotherapeutic effect. It's unreal, but this site has relieved my stress in a way that no psychologist can. Thank you again for standing for Ukraine!

About this mod

This mod differs by "handcrafting" almost every grass cluster in the main cities and towns of Morrowind. Thanks to Yacoby's Meh Generator, I generated and then edited Aesthesia Groundcover grass for Rebirth by hand. This means I edited thousands and thousands of grass bushes. So there is no more "grass in campfire" or "tent stuffed with grass so you can't find an NPC there". Now the grass looks like... normal grass.

I generated regular-sized grass using the settings of the original mod, then a smaller version for more pleasant and dense vegetation. Basically it features multiple layers of generated grass esp's that have been edited for better visual appeal. That is, three esp files for the "green" Morrowind region, like the Bitter coast. Two esp for the "yellow", where the grass is drier (Grazelands) and one for dead grass in cities like Ald-Run.

Installation

1. Download and install Aesthesia Groundcover - grass mod

I recommend to use Darker grass variant.

2. Drop GrassRebirth1.esp, GrassRebirth2.esp, GrassRebirth3.esp, GrassRebirthSmall1. 0.esp, GrassRebirthSmall1. 1.esp, GrassRebirthSmall2.esp into your Morrowind/Data Files

-GrassRebirth is the normal size of grass according to Aesthesia Groundcover settings.

-GrassRebirthSmall is a smaller version of the grass.

-Combining them all, you can get a more dense vegetation.

-More than three layers of grass creates artifacts and the grass starts flashing.

3. In MGE XE generate distant land check Morrowind.esp, Bloodmoon.esp, Tribunal.esp, Morrowind Rebirth .esp, GrassRebirth1.esp, GrassRebirth2.esp, GrassRebirth3.esp, GrassRebirthSmall1. 0.esp, GrassRebirthSmall1. 1.esp, GrassRebirthSmall2.esp

4. In Morrowind launcher DON'T check Grass plugins - it needs only for MGE XE distant land generator

I highly recommend to use Morrowind FPS Optimizer. It greatly improve fps in cities. You will need to disable "Better Haggling" Option in the MCP (Morrowind Code Patch) "Interface Changes" Menu or FPS Optimizer may not detect the game correctly.

🤖 AI-enhanced — based on mod data

Grass for Morrowind Rebirth 6.5 is a compatibility patch that replaces the default grass with layered normal and small sizes, preventing grass from appearing in inappropriate places like campfires, tents, and Balmora. It's for players using the Morrowind Rebirth overhaul who want cleaner visuals. With 70 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche but useful fix.

✨ Key Features

Adds generated layered grass (normal size + small size) for Morrowind Rebirth 6.5
Prevents grass from awkwardly sprouting in unwanted locations such as campfires, tents, and Balmora
Compatible specifically with Morrowind Rebirth 6.5

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Fixes a real annoyance—no more grass poking through campfires and tents
  • Recent update (January 2024) means it's likely compatible with current Rebirth 6.5
  • Lightweight and focused: does one job and does it well

⚠️ Cons

  • Only works with Morrowind Rebirth 6.5—if you're on a different version, you're out of luck
  • Low endorsement count (70) suggests it's a niche fix, not widely tested
🎯 Is This For You?
For Morrowind players who use the Rebirth overhaul and are tired of grass clipping through objects. If you're not using Rebirth 6.5, skip this. It's a cosmetic fix, not a gameplay changer.

💡 Beginner Tips

  • Make sure you have Morrowind Rebirth 6.5 installed before adding this mod, or it won't work.
  • If you use a mod manager like Wrye Mash or Mod Organizer 2, install this as a separate mod and load it after Rebirth.
  • If you see grass still in wrong places, check your load order—this mod must override Rebirth's grass files.
