📋 About This Mod
Apart from changing faction settings, this mod alters one dialogue line and one book to reflect the new skills. It is completely lore-friendly; in fact, it is already implied in-game (through savant dialogue and Neminda's comments) that the Fighters' Guild values spears and Redoran values marksmanship; this mod changes the actual game to reflect that. No DLCs are required. This is my first mod and I have only tested it with OpenMW; please comment if there are any bugs or even just to tell me that it is working correctly.
A small Morrowind mod that changes the favored skills for the Fighters' Guild and House Redoran, making Spear and Marksman respectively. This allows archers and spear-users to advance more easily in those factions. With 28 endorsements and last updated in 2020, it's a niche but functional tweak for role-players.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny download (422 downloads) and simple install—just drop it in your Data Files.
- Fills a real gap for spear and marksman builds that want to climb faction ranks without grinding unrelated skills.
- Lightweight tweak that doesn't overhaul anything else, so it's safe to add to most load orders.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 28 endorsements—small user base, so you're on your own if issues pop up.
- Last updated in 2020—might conflict with other mods that alter faction requirements or skill lists.
- No documentation beyond the one-liner description, so you'll need to test it yourself to see if it works with your setup.
For Morrowind players who love spear or marksman characters and want to join the Fighters' Guild or House Redoran without wasting skill points. Skip if you're fine with the vanilla favored skills or if you use overhaul mods that already change faction requirements.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Place the mod's files directly into your Morrowind Data Files folder and enable it in the launcher.
- If you use a mod manager like Wrye Mash or Mod Organizer 2, install it through that to keep your load order clean.
- Test by starting a new character or using the console to check faction rank requirements—this mod doesn't touch existing saves.
