📋 About This Mod
If Oblivion did one thing right, it's getting rid of enchantments like "Cast on Use - Fortify Endurance 5pts for 30 sec." Of course, it did that by removing Cast on use enchantments entirely... but that's besides the point. I think a lot of the fun of Oblivion was finding its magic items, because you always knew they'd buff your character because they were all passive constant effects. In Morrowind however, enchanted items ranged from what the fuck to holy shit, so this mod is trying to improve some of the what the fuck enchantments. A lot of items are now constant effects, to make them more fun to find and less tedious to use. Also, a few special items have received their own new enchantments, like Stormkiss, the Amulet of Usheeja, or Auriel's Shield.
As for balancing - I just went with my gut. I know how this game's magic effects work, so I didn't do "Constant Effect - Restore Health 10 pts" or anything like that. Overall, you will be much more powerful with these items. But that's because normally, these items may as well have not done anything. There are still plenty of Cast on Use items, sometimes even more powerful than they were before. But in the end, finding enchanted items should be more fun now.
I also rebalanced most of the scroll effects in the game since the game counts them as enchantments. There were a lot of scrolls and effects in scrolls that barely did anything, and that's been rectified. I don't think I nerfed anything, so don't worry about that.
I didn't change any enchantments that weren't used by any item, so if you have a mod that adds an item that uses one of these enchantments, it will be as it would've in the vanilla game.
Empowered Enchantments revamps most enchantments in the game, converting many cast-on-use effects into constant effects with balanced stats, and buffing others to make them more viable. A gameplay overhaul for players seeking more powerful and convenient enchantments.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Turns clunky cast-on-use effects into passive bonuses, saving you from constant re-casting
- Balancing keeps things strong but not game-breaking, so you won't one-shot everything
- Small but dedicated community (46 endorsements) shows it works for those who try it
⚠️ Cons
- Only 46 endorsements and 913 downloads — niche appeal, might not be widely tested
- Last updated in December 2023 — could be outdated if the game has patched since
For players who find cast-on-use enchantments tedious and want passive bonuses instead. Also for those who want enchantments to feel more impactful without breaking the game. Skip if you prefer the original balance or want a more comprehensive overhaul.
