📋 About This Mod
Colored Potion Icons v 1. 0
by Quasar25
Based on the icons by Alaisiagae with help from Hrnchamd
Includes 55 potion icons. It only covers the potions that either fortify or restore. The purpose of the colors is to be able to tell what some of the
most common potions are in a vendor's inventory. Without having to mouse over each one. It will take some time to commit to memory what each color stands for.
There are 11 different colors.
Agility = Maroon
Health = Red
Fatigue = Yellow
Intelligence = Blue
Luck = Dark Green
Magika = Purple
Personality = Cyan
Speed = Light Green
Strength = Orange
Willpower = White
Endurance = Black
Since there are only 11 colors. Each color is both for restore and fortify. The rest of the potion icons are unaltered, but at least there are less types that
look the same now.
This does not alter how potions look on the shelves. Only icons are altered.
INSTALLATION
Place the Data File folder (with sub folders) into your Morrowind folder. Check the .esp plugin in your mod organizer and run the game from the mod organizer.
Simply remove the plugin. You could remove the icon textures but its not really necessary. They have different names than any other icons and only take up just over 400kb
REQUIREMENTS
Mod Organizer 2 or the equivalent.
A compact visual overhaul for Skyrim that recolors 55 potion icons to distinguish fortify and restore potions at a glance. Ideal for players who want quicker vendor browsing without hovering over every item. Last updated in 2020, with modest community support.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Saves time when shopping—no more hovering over every potion to see what it does.
- Clean, simple concept that does exactly what it says.
- Small file size and no dependencies, so it's a safe add to any load order.
⚠️ Cons
- Only covers 55 potions—many other potions remain unchanged, so the effect is partial.
- Last updated in 2020—may have compatibility issues with newer Skyrim versions or mods that alter potion icons.
- No screenshots or detailed install instructions provided, so you're flying blind until you test it.
For Skyrim players who hate hovering over every potion in a vendor's inventory and want a quick visual cue. Also for those who prefer lightweight, no-frills UI tweaks. Skip if you want comprehensive icon overhauls or if you're on a mod list that already changes potion icons.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since this mod only changes icons, it's safe to install with a mod manager like Vortex or MO2—just drop it in and enable.
- If you use other icon mods, load this one after them to ensure its colors take priority.
- Test in a vendor's inventory to see if the colors are distinct enough for your preference—if not, you can easily remove it.
