📋 About This Mod
Reupload of the OG Morrowind mod CM Partners. This is the newer v3. 0. The old v1. 0 was already here.
It's also been cleaned in TES3cmd of all unnecessary records.
Please note this mod is old, circa 2003, and last updated 2006. This v3. 0 release was buried on the Internet Archive for a good while now. As such, this doesn't work with our modern day big town overhauls, i.e. BCOM. There are no patches either. You probably need to use a mod list that's lean on location edits to use this.
Additionally, as it was a spiritual predecessor and inspiration for Danae's mod, this is not compatible with Friends and Frens. Don't use both together.
Description:
The Partners Mod is a full featured companion mod that provides a 100 companion NPC's through out Morrowind. There are 100 companion NPC’s all with the ability to become your friends, lovers, companions, or partners depending on disposition. These NPC's are divided into Magic, Stealth, and Combat classes each with their own birthsign and associated powers, abilities, and spells. A complete levelup system is also provided so that the player is able to train his companions and partners in the weapons and armor of choice. Each character also carries a journal with their own background stories.
The best feature of the Partners Mod is the ability to create your own custom companions and partners and add them to the game. Full detailed instructions are included which anyone can use to create their own companions, even those unfamilar with the TES Construction Set.
Change log:
Partners Mod 3. 0 Roleplayers Edition Features:
1. Expanded alignment system. All Partner NPC's will now join you if their disposition is high enough, but evil and neutral characters have a higher chance of leaving you. Chance of leaving: Good 1%, Neutral 5%, Evil 8%.
2. Included the Alignment Choice upgrade, so that if you don’t take an alignment sheet from the barrels outside the custom office, alignment will be mostly disabled. NPC’s will still have a 1% chance of leaving you.
3. Dropped the level at which an NPC will become your partner from a disposition of 80 to 70.
4. Expanded Health topic which tells if the Partner NPC has any disease or magical ailment.
5. Conversation topics are now a little more streamlined with less words, more disposition changes, and less verbal dancing to raise your companion's disposition.
6. When an npc decides to leave you they will now demand part of the purse. After all, they helped collect the funds. If you do not share with them, they will be upset and attack you.
7. If a Partner NPC's disposition falls below a certain point, they will attack you. You can actually walk into a tavern, insult an NPC with the Insult topic or Taunt, and they will ask you to step outside to settle the disagreement. As soon as you leave they will follow you and confront you.
CM Partners v3.0 Roleplayer's Edition is a companion mod adding 100 NPCs that can become friends, lovers, companions, or partners based on disposition. With 27 endorsements and over 1,100 downloads, it's a niche but functional choice for players seeking extensive companion options.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Huge roster of 100 NPCs gives you plenty of variety for any playthrough.
- The disposition system adds depth—your relationships actually evolve based on how you interact.
- Decent download count (1,103) shows it's been tried by a fair number of players.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 27 endorsements—so it's not exactly community-approved, and you might run into bugs.
- Last updated in November 2023—could be outdated if the game has had patches since then.
- No detailed documentation or feature list provided, so you're going in blind on how the system works.
For roleplayers who want a massive cast of potential companions and don't mind a bit of rough around the edges. If you're looking for a polished, well-documented companion mod, this might not be it. But if you want sheer quantity and relationship mechanics, it's worth a shot.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since this mod adds 100 NPCs, expect some performance impact—consider using a mod manager to keep track of files.
- Check the mod's page for any compatibility notes with other companion mods or overhauls.
- If you're on a version of the game newer than late 2023, test early to see if it works before building a playthrough around it.
