📋 About This Mod

This is a set of modified chitin textures. They are altered to be much darker, slicker, and have more depth, because I absolutely hated how light colored the original textures were in game. The over all effect is in my opinion, a much better looking set of armor and weapons that maintains the spirit of the original. All credit goes to Bethesda for the original textures. Simply extract the zip to your data files folder to install.

📊 Pros & Cons

✅ Pros

  • Fixes a common complaint about chitin being too light
  • Simple texture replacer—no gameplay changes, just visual improvement
  • Still has a niche fanbase (48 endorsements) after all these years

⚠️ Cons

  • Last updated in 2008—likely outdated for current game versions
  • Only affects chitin textures, so if you don't use chitin gear, it's useless
  • No screenshots or detailed install instructions provided
🎯 Is This For You?
For players who hate the vanilla chitin's pale look and want a darker, more menacing aesthetic. Perfect for stealth or evil characters. Skip if you're fine with the original textures or want more comprehensive armor overhauls.
