📋 About This Mod
Character Panel
One glance, everything you're wearing — no menu-diving required.
Ever wished you could see your character's whole loadout on one simple screen? Now you can. Character Panel puts every piece you're wearing — armor, weapon, shield, clothes, and jewelry — into a single tidy view, with the real numbers your character actually fights and walks around with.
The vanilla inventory paper-doll shows you what you've got equipped. It's coy about what it all adds up to. So you open the inventory, hover one thing, do some mental math, hover another, forget the first number, and give up. Character Panel just lays it all out: every slot, every stat, figured against your live skills, your Strength, the wear on your gear, and the weight on your back.
Tap a key, and there it is. Tap it again, it's gone.
It changes nothing about how the game plays. It is read-only, everywhere. It only shows you the truth about the gear you already have on.
What it shows
Your full loadout, in order. Every armor piece, your weapon, your shield, and every scrap of clothing and jewelry — laid out in clean, aligned columns instead of scattered around a doll.
Numbers your character actually uses. Armor rating and effective per-piece AR, weapon DPS, hit chance, and your walk, run, and swim speeds — all read from (or computed against) the live engine and your real GMSTs, not hardcoded guesses. Correct even in a 700-mod load order that's rewritten half the game's values.
A weight-class crest. Heavy, medium, light, or unarmored — color-coded at a glance, and the same color threads through the crest, the per-row class column, and the section headers so nothing ever contradicts itself.
Enchantment at a glance. The effects on your equipped gear and how much charge you've got left before it fizzles.
Optional hover tooltips. Hover any equipped item for the full breakdown — attack math, value, weight, remaining enchant charge.
A hovered cuirass, or the panel at rest, tells you what you're actually carrying — not what a boot's "45 armor" label wishes it were worth.
Requirements
Required
- []OpenMW 0. 51+. Pure Lua, no ESP, no master file — just drop it in and go.[/]
-
[]Heft — powers the weight-class crest, your swing-speed factor, and damage reduction. Without it, those lines simply stand down.[/]
[]Armorer Enhanced — adds a per-item temper column. Without it, that column stays blank.[/]
[]Athletics Enhanced — folds its movement contributions into your speed readout.[/]
[]Coexists cleanly with Arms & Armor Compare — they read the same honest numbers and never draw a line the other already draws.[/]
Character Panel for OpenMW adds a simple screen to view your character's loadout at a glance. With 14 endorsements and 1,123 downloads, it's a niche quality-of-life mod for OpenMW players who want quick inventory overview without extra complexity.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Simple and functional—does exactly what it says
- Small but active user base (14 endorsements, 1,123 downloads)
- Recent update (August 2026) shows the author is still maintaining it
⚠️ Cons
- Very niche—only useful if you play OpenMW, not vanilla Morrowind
- Low endorsement count means limited community feedback
For OpenMW players who want a quick, no-fuss way to check their gear without digging through menus. Skip if you play vanilla Morrowind or want deeper UI overhauls—this is a minimal QoL tweak.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you're running OpenMW, not the original Morrowind executable—this mod won't work on vanilla.
- Place the mod files in your OpenMW data directory and enable it in the launcher's content list.
- If you use multiple mods, check load order—though this one is simple, it's good practice to keep UI mods consistent.
