📋 About This Mod
Sol's Bow Aim Activate
For OpenMW 0. 48. 0+

This can be paired seamlessly with my other OpenMW 0. 48+ Lua mods and will soon be included in my full Combat Mod Pack.

Charge your bow attack to trigger a dynamic zoom / FOV narrowing effect, based on your marksman skill. Zoom gets 3x stronger between marksman 0 and 100. Decide whether you can zoom with thrown weapons. Optionally set fatigue drain values for while your bow is drawn (worse for heavier weapons, easier as strength levels), and or while zoomed (easier as marksman levels).
I hope there aren't any.

Bow Aim Activate (OpenMW Lua) lets you zoom in when fully drawing your bow by pressing the activate key. The zoom effect scales with your marksman skill and works in first or third person. It is semi-configurable, offering a simple enhancement for archery-focused players in OpenMW.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tight integration with OpenMW's Lua system—no external dependencies.
- Skill-based zoom adds a rewarding layer to archery gameplay.
- Works in both first and third person, so it fits any playstyle.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 78 endorsements—still a niche mod, but the community that has it seems to like it.
- Semi-configurable means you might not get full control over zoom behavior.
- Requires OpenMW 0.48+ with Lua support—if you're on an older build, this won't work.
For OpenMW players who love archery and want a more immersive aiming experience without overhaul mods. If you're a purist who prefers vanilla mechanics, this might feel unnecessary. Skip if you're on classic Morrowind or older OpenMW versions without Lua.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Make sure you're running OpenMW 0.48 or newer with Lua enabled—check your settings.cfg for 'enable lua = true'.
- Test the zoom in third person first; some players find it disorienting in first person.
- If the zoom feels too strong or weak, look for config options in the mod's files—it's semi-configurable, so you can tweak values.
