Booze for Purists is a small mod for Morrowind that adds variety to inn drinks by replacing some plain bottles with common booze, including local Vvardenfell beverages and imports from Tamriel. It features an MCM to adjust the replacement chance and affects NPCs. With 89 endorsements and recent updates, it's a niche but functional addition for players seeking more immersive tavern offerings.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Tiny but dedicated following (89 endorsements) — the kind of mod that makes taverns feel alive.
- MCM integration gives you control over how often booze shows up, so you can tweak it to your taste.
- Adds lore-friendly variety without overhauling the whole game — perfect for purists who want subtle changes.
⚠️ Cons
- Only 89 endorsements — this is a niche mod, so don't expect widespread testing or community support.
- No mention of compatibility with other mods that alter inn inventories or MCM settings — potential conflicts if you run a heavily modded setup.
For Morrowind players who love immersive taverns and want a bit more variety in what's on offer without a total overhaul. If you're a purist who enjoys subtle lore-friendly additions, this is right up your alley. Skip if you want major gameplay changes or if you're not into micromanaging MCM settings.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since this mod uses MCM, make sure you have MCM (Mod Configuration Menu) installed and enabled for Morrowind — it's required for the settings to work.
- Check your load order: place this mod after other mods that alter inn inventories to avoid overwriting changes.
- If you're using a mod manager like Wrye Mash or MO2, install it manually or via manager and activate it in your load order before launching the game.
