📋 About This Mod
Description
Because I like big shiny rocks, I re-did my Better Telvanni Crystal with a new style. Compatible out of the box with Tamirel Data/Rebuilt and OAAB Data. I also made some compatibily patches.
Be aware that I'm not used to game-assets 3d moddeling, so I don't think any of this is very well optimized. There are normals maps, but no specular or PBR because for the love of god I don't get how to do them.
I will now crawl back to my hole and be able to produce nothing for the next monthes. That means that I will read comment and suggestion, but don't count on me to make patches for other mods, as I'm not reliable. Will obviously correct bugs.
I would also like to go back to my older version to give it the same compatibility treatment (at least for TR) because I'm pretty sure some peoples will prefer the older version.
Installation instructions
Directly in your data files folder, or your mods installation folder if you use one. No plugin. Some patches use the same meshes so they might overwrite each other with a normal installation, but don't worry about it.
Requirements
Technically none. TR and OAAB Data replacer will only works with said mods, of course. Patches require their original mod.
Should work with vanilla engine but was only tested with OpenMW.
Permissions
You are free to do wathever you want with this mod, for morrowind modding (patches, modifications, rework, etc.). Just credit me. If possible, try to keep my mod as a requirement.
I included the .blend I used to make this mod, and you are free to use it to work with. Just be aware that it is an absolute mess and that you will curse my family for generations to come, because I just can't organize anything in my life :).
A pluginless mesh replacer for Morrowind's big crystals, offering an alternative style to the author's older mod. With 8 endorsements and 1,135 downloads, it's a niche cosmetic update for players seeking a fresh look for these iconic structures.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Pluginless means it's a simple drop-in install, no load order headaches
- Fresh take on the iconic big crystals, giving Morrowind a new visual flavor
- Small but dedicated following (8 endorsements) — you're getting a niche gem
⚠️ Cons
- Only 8 endorsements — this is a very niche mod, so don't expect widespread community testing
- No screenshots or detailed description — you're flying blind on what the new style actually looks like
- Last updated June 2026 — but no version info, so compatibility with current Morrowind builds is unverified
For Morrowind players who want to refresh the look of the big crystals without dealing with plugin conflicts. If you're a texture/mesh mod enthusiast who enjoys trying obscure but functional replacers, this is for you. Skip if you want gameplay changes or need visual previews before installing.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's pluginless, just drop the meshes into your Data Files folder, but make sure to back up the original crystal meshes if you want to revert.
- Use a mod manager like Mod Organizer 2 to keep track of file overwrites, especially if you have other mesh replacers installed.
- Check the mod's comments section on Nexus for user screenshots or feedback, since the description lacks images.
