📋 About This Mod
Balanced Fixed Game Settings
BFGS enhances Morrowind in a highly compatible way by tweaking multiple Game Settings (GMSTs) related to movement and fatigue (walking, running, attacking, blocking, swimming, jumping), economy (alchemy, bribing, repairing, enchanting, recharging, spell learning, training, traveling), crime (bounty, trespassing, stealing, killing, pickpocket mechanics fix), leveling (no misc. skill attribute increase), and immersion (removing those annoying messages from enchanted weapons depleted of charges and halving the distance for greeting NPCs). Iit rebalances the game based on the work of many different authors with the same compelling view of making it a more immersive, rewarding experience, albeit a tad harder and unforgiving.
Note that BFGS integrates both Economy Settings Tweaked and Movement and Fatigue Settings Tweaked. Overall, it's pretty easy to customize the settings' values by yourself using Bethesda's or OpenMW's Construction Set. If you prefer only the changes related to some, but not all aspects of the game, please refer to their mod pages. Check out the original mods below for more details and endorse the OGs if you like their work - and have fun!

✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Covers a wide range of systems in one mod—movement, economy, leveling, and more—so you get a comprehensive balance overhaul without juggling multiple mods.
- Actively maintained (last updated June 2024), which is a good sign for compatibility with current Morrowind setups.
- Small but dedicated following (18 endorsements) suggests it's a niche gem that works for those who try it.
⚠️ Cons
- Low endorsement count (18) means it's not widely tested—you might hit unexpected issues that the community hasn't ironed out yet.
- Requires integrating other mods, which could add dependency headaches if those mods aren't clearly listed or maintained.
For Morrowind veterans who want a more balanced and immersive vanilla experience without a total overhaul. If you're tired of the vanilla economy being too easy or pickpocketing being a joke, this mod targets those pain points. Skip if you prefer massive content mods or want full control over every tweak—this is a curated balance pass.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since this mod tweaks GMSTs, make sure you use a mod manager like Wrye Mash or Mod Organizer 2 to keep track of your load order and avoid conflicts with other mods that change the same settings.
- If you're using Morrowind Code Patch or Patch for Purists, check for compatibility—GMST tweaks can clash with those, so test early in your playthrough.
- Back up your save before installing, as balance changes can affect existing characters—though this is more of a precaution than a requirement.
