📋 About This Mod
In all these years, I always asked myself where did Arrille sleep. He always stood watch behind that counter with that intense stare of his, always greeted my characters with his potions and his invaluable hearth heal. I also asked myself where did travelers who came to Seyda Neen (by boat or simply visiting the census) would sleep, since the only room with a bed in the tradehouse is (probably) occupied by Elone. I decided to answer these essential lore questions by getting my feet wet with the CS and making this mod.
- adds a third floor under the roof in Arrille's Tradehouse, reachable using a ladder on the second floor, with two new rooms
- you can now rent a small attic room for 5 drakes per day. Tolvise Othralen (the dunmer in front of Arrille) manages the renting (I didn't want to mess with Arrille for compatibility purposes). The room is just a lore-friendly way to get a bed in Seyda Neen without killing anyone or squatting in a cold cellar. Having two super sized containers owned by the player (they're large capacity, in case you're not using the excellent D'SSSS), It can also serve as a small base of operations in the zone
- adds Arrille's room to said third floor (locked), so you have something to do with that census lockpick in case it survives the small chest
- Tolvise Othralen now sells some restocking food (most notably bread, since in the base game the only NPC having restocking bread is the six fishes' publican), mainly to help starting players with (Ashfall) food needs
- Answers another important lore question: where does Tolvise sleep? (Adds her hammock in Arrille's basement)
- Modifies greetings and adds a couple of dialogue topics for both Tolvise and Arrille (for Arrille is mostly flavour, non-essential stuff - no worries if his dialogue is overwritten by something else)
1) Extract the .zip in your morrowind folder (or put Tradehouse third Floor.esp in Data Files).
2) Activate the .esp
The mod has been made trying to use only original assets - it uses the same rental system of the base game's publicans and requires only morrowind.esm.
Like the basement in the original game, the floor is in the same cell of the tradehouse, but far away from it. Should be compatible with almost anything.
Mods that change Tolvise dialogue may result in not getting the "room" topic, required to rent the room (I tested this mod with LGNPC and it worked). If you're having problems getting the "Room" topic, open the console, click on her and "addtopi
Adds a third floor to Arrille's Tradehouse in Vivec, giving Arrille a bedroom and a rentable room for the player. A small immersion mod for Morrowind players who want more logical living spaces for NPCs.
✨ Key Features
📊 Pros & Cons
✅ Pros
- Fills a lore gap—Arrille finally has a bed after 20 years
- Tiny footprint, easy to drop into any load order
- Active author (last updated June 2023)
⚠️ Cons
- Low endorsement count (34) means it's not widely tested
- No screenshots or detailed description—you're flying blind
- May conflict with other mods that alter Arrille's Tradehouse
For Morrowind players who care about NPC living arrangements and want a bit more immersion in Vivec. Skip if you're looking for gameplay changes or major overhauls—this is a tiny lore-friendly addition.
💡 Beginner Tips
- Since it's a Morrowind mod, make sure you have the Morrowind Code Patch or OpenMW for stability.
- If you use multiple mods that edit Arrille's Tradehouse, load this one last to avoid conflicts.
- Talk to Tolvise Othralen in-game to get the dialogue about the new room.
