📋 About This Mod
Pulls monster drops towards your hunter so you can keep fighting instead of walking the arena picking things up. Optional no-animation pickup, with the game's own notification. Fixed gathering points are never touched.
MHW AutoLoot
A magnet for monster drops. Shiny drops within a radius are pulled towards your hunter, so you can keep fighting instead of walking back and forth across the arena picking things up one at a time.
Two ways to use it
The magnet (on by default) only moves the drop. Your hunter picks it up the normal way, so the "Obtained" notification, the pouch count and multiplayer sync all keep working exactly as the game intends. Nothing about the pickup itself is modified.
Auto-pickup (off by default) goes further: when a drop ends up right under your feet, the mod puts the item in your pouch and removes the drop, skipping the gathering animation. You still get the game's own notification — icon, item name and amount — because the mod calls the game's own notification function. The name therefore appears in whatever language you play in.
If you want the mod to change as little as possible, leave auto-pickup off. The magnet alone already removes almost all the walking.
Back up your save first
Thirty seconds, and you only need to do it once.
Your save lives in your Steam folder, not in Documents:
Steam\userdata\<your Steam3 ID>\582010\remote\SAVEDATA1000
Copy that file somewhere safe. If you have more than one numbered folder under userdata, the right one is the folder containing 582010.
To be straight with you about the risk: this mod does not touch the save file. Auto-pickup puts items in your pouch through the game's own function, and the game saves them the way it saves everything else. But a backup costs nothing and removes the question entirely.
One catch if you ever need to restore it: Monster Hunter World syncs saves through Steam Cloud. If you drop your backup back in and start Steam normally, the cloud copy can overwrite it. Disable Steam Cloud for the game (right-click the game → Properties → General) before restoring, launch once so the local file becomes the current one, then turn it back on.
What it does
-
[]Configurable radius, speed and height, or instant pull with no arc at all.[/]
[]Chooses where it runs. By default it does nothing in Astera, Seliana and the private rooms, and works everywhere else — quests, expeditions, Guiding Lands, arenas. You can narrow it to quests only, or remove the restriction entirely.[/]
[]Guiding Lands + Geologist. With that skill a drop can be gathered twice, but auto-pickup would make it vanish on the first pass. Tick the box and such drops are taken twice — and only in the Guiding Lands, so you can leave the option on permanently.[/]
[]An item table with an Ignore button, to exclude a type of drop for good. Slinger pods are already excluded out of the box.[/]
[]Settings that persist across restarts, saved automatically.[/]
[]English and Italian menu.[/]
Installation
Copy the folder from the archive into your game directory, so the file ends up here:
Monster Hunter World\nativePC\plugins\CSharp\MhwAutoLoot\MhwAutoLoot.dllThat's it. Start the game and press F9 to open the SharpPluginLoader menu — MHW AutoLoot is one of the entries. F7 toggles the magnet without opening the menu; F8 writes a diagnostic dump to the log.
To uninstall, delete that folder.
Where your settings live: next to the DLL when that folder is writable. If the game is under Program Files it is not, so the mod falls back to
%APPDATA%\MhwAutoLoot\. The log names the exact path on every startup.
Things you should know before installing
-
[]Auto-pickup modifies the game at runtime — it calls the game's own functions and writes to memory. It is off by default, and recommended for offline or single player. The magnet on its own does none of this.[/]
[]Multiplayer: tested online with other hunters without problems.[/]
[]Geologist: the second pickup gives the same item as the first, because the mod reads the item id off the drop. A real second gather might have produced something else — there is no way to ask the game what it would have given.[/]
