📋 About This Mod
A framework for adding non-replacing layered armors to the game. That way you are able to install as many armor mods as you want at a time. This mod has its own interface to manage the armor sets. Armors are able to be changed instantly from the mod UI. UI can be opened and navigated with a keyboard/mouse or game controller.
Mod Users - How to Use:
Press "p" to open the GUI by default. Or "LB" + "Home" by default if you are using gamepad. You should see a menu and it will have armor sets loaded for each armor mod you have. It will look similar to the game's vanilla equipment interface. Select an armor by selecting an icon. Your armor will now take the appearance of the custom one from Extra Layered Armor. Select the icon again and it will disable the appearance of the armor.
Mod Authors - How to Use:
Armor mods that you will make will go into:
nativePC/plugins/CSharp/ExtraLayeredArmor/ArmorSets/WhateverName.json.
The json file that you create will provide info for your mod.
Be sure to check out the armor example for the structure on how to do this.
The json keys are as follows. For the example with BodyArmor in the prefix, just replace Body with the part name for the other parts. For any part you do not want to use, you do not need to include it. The in-game mod menu will use a darker gray icon for the part to tell you that it's not in use just like the game does. All paths are relative (starting from) to nativePC.
"SetName" - This needs to be unique and should be provided.
"BodyArmorPreviewImage" - The image to show when hovering over armor pieces.
"BodyArmorPartName" - The name of your armor part.
"BodyArmorMeshPath" - The path to your mod3 asset.
Physics (ctc, ccl) will be loaded as long as you provide the same file names (except for the extension of course) in the same folder as your mod3 file. Same thing if you want your material (mrl3) to be loaded. Of course, the point of this mod is to make things non-replacing so you will want to use your own custom paths for edited files. Or even unedited files (like textures) if you want to add compatibility with current replacer mods.
Installation/Requirements:
Install SharpPluginLoader and its requirements.
Install this mod by extracting the nativePC folders to your MonsterHunterWorld base game directory (Or use Fluffy Mod Manager).
"How do I get decent custom textures to use for part preview images?"
A: Make a replacer version first, then using the normal game preview, screenshot and crop that into a new image to use for your mod.
Known Limitations or Things to Note:
I want to preface by saying there is a lot of unknown code in the game. And a lot of work has to be done just to find small things because it has to be reverse engineered.
