📋 About This Mod

Run the music of your choice (play mp3 file) based on the area, the combat state, the monster and many more, mod descriptions for more details.

Description

State Music let you play your own song while playing Monster Hunter Wilds, chosen automatically by what you're doing. It plays one track while you explore and another during combat, and you can even set different music for each region, for both exploration and fights. Everything switches on its own based on the game's real state (combat, the exact monster, the zone, your HP, quest outcome, and more), with smooth crossfades and seamless loops. All main features are listed below !

Installation instructions

1. Install REFramework (required. See Requirements below).

2. Extract this mod into your game folder.

3. Put your audio files (mp3, wav, ogg, flac) into:

MonsterHunterWilds/reframework/data/StateMusic/4. Launch the game, open the REFramework menu and find State Music.

5. Pick your tracks from the dropdowns. If you add files while the game is running, click Refresh files.

Start with a LOW volume — the audio can be extremely loud at max.

Main features

  • []Your own music by game state : a track for exploration, a track for combat, switched automatically.[/]

[]Per-monster battle themes : a dedicated track for the exact monster you're fighting, read straight from the game's own battle music (not an HP guess). You can also assign a theme to any monster in advance from a dropdown, no need to fight it first.[/]

[]Per-monster phase themes : each monster can have its own Mid-HP and Low-HP theme on top of its combat theme, each with its own HP % threshold (falls back to the global one if left unset).[/]

[]Per-zone music : set a separate exploration and combat theme for each region (Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, Iceshard Cliffs, and more).[/]

[]Ambience by time of day & weather : combinable rules that pick music based on the in-game time (morning / daytime / evening / night) and weather, optionally tied to a specific zone.[/]

[]Camp / tent theme : your own music at a field camp or inside a tent (base camps and pop-up tents included). Villages and hubs keep their own zone music.[/]

[]Monster low-HP theme : trigger your "Proof of a Hero" hype moment when the monster is nearly dead (15% by default, fully adjustable, I also like Haikyuu Direct Confrontation ost when the monster is low). There's a Mid-HP phase too.[/]

[]Chase theme : plays when a monster flees.[/]

[]Death theme : plays when you faint.[/]

[]Quest outcome themes : separate tracks for Complete / Failed / Abandoned.[/]

[]Playlists : assign a whole playlist to any state, with optional shuffle. A "Lock playlist per quest" option keeps the same random track for a whole quest, even if combat pauses and resumes (a new one is picked each new quest).[/]

[]Resume : map and combat music pick up where they left off after a short interruption instead of restarting from the beginning. Same track resumes, a different one starts fresh (optional toggle).[/]

    []Crossfade between tracks.[/]

[]Seamless looping : set loop points per file, with an optional "play the track once first, then loop a section" mode (like game music), plus a "Test loop" preview.[/]

[]Per-file volume leveling : even out songs recorded louder than others, with a "Test (8s)" preview so nothing jumpscares you. A single default volume sets every file at once; override just the odd ones.[/]

[]Non-ASCII file names supported — Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Cyrillic and accents all display, save and play correctly (the mod ships a font for this, just extract everything).[/]

[]Alphabetical, name-filterable file lists everywhere : find a track instantly even with a huge library.[/]

[]Presets : save and reload named configurations.[/]

[]Download from a link or a whole playlist : optional, via yt-dlp (see the V2 note below).[/]

[]Volume control : Ctrl+Click the slider to type an exact value.[/]

[]Works with mp3, wav, ogg and flac.[/]

[]Auto mute the game's BGM when yours is playing ![/]

Requirements

  • []REFramework for Monster Hunter Wilds.[/]

[]The game's own BGM is muted automatically while your music plays (on by default, toggle in Settings & mixing). Your saved Options > Audio setting is never changed, you can put it back to the settings you want.[/]
