Proof of a Buttplug (buttplug.io and vibration boost)

DESCRIPTION

Connects Monster Hunter Wilds to any Buttplug.io-compatible haptic device through Intiface Central. Hunt with your whole body. The mod mirrors the game's internal vibration signal in real time and layers additional haptic feedback on top for events like taking damage and dying. Every setting is tunable in-game. Can be used on top of your normal XInput controller, but expect for it to be fighting the in-game settings unless you boost them.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT YOU NEED BEFORE YOU START

You need to download and install four things. Do all of these before touching any mod files.

1. REFramework This is the mod loader that makes Wilds mods work. Download here: https://www.nexusmods.com/monsterhunterwilds/mods/93 Install it by dropping

dinput8.dllinto your Monster Hunter Wilds game folder. If you don't know where that is, right click the game in Steam → Manage → Browse Local Files.

2. Intiface Central This is the free app that talks to your device. Download here: https://intiface.com/central Install it and open it. Hit the big Start Server button. You should see your device show up under Connected Devices. Leave this open in the background.

3. Python This is a free programming language the mod needs to run. Download here: https://www.python.org/downloads/ When installing, check the box that says "Add Python to PATH" or nothing will work.

4. The buttplug library Once Python is installed, open Command Prompt (search "cmd" in your Start menu) and type this exactly, then hit Enter:

pip install buttplug

Wait for it to finish. You only need to do this once.

INSTALLING THE MOD

Step 1:The Lua script Take the file

ButtplugMod.lua

and put it here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MonsterHunterWilds\reframework\autorun\

folder doesn't exist, create it yourself.

Step 2:The sidecar Take the file

buttplug_sidecar.pyand put it anywhere you like. Your Desktop is fine.

EVERY TIME YOU WANT TO USE THE MOD

You must do these steps IN THIS ORDER or it won't work.

1. Open Intiface Central and hit Start Server. Make sure your device is connected and shows up.

2. Run

buttplug_sidecar.py

Double-click it, or right-click → Open With → Python.

A small window will appear. Wait for it to say your device name in green.

3. Launch Monster Hunter Wilds through Steam as normal.

Once in game, press the Insert key to open the REFramework menu. Click ButtplugMod to open the settings. Everything saves automatically.
