I think the worst thing that I've done to my own save with this tool is somehow losing all online-related data, this includes friends/followers/squads etc, as well as challenge quest times/rankings (still have the pendants though), I'm not sure how this happened initially, but I think it's related to either claiming DLC content or login bonuses, then logging in with an old save to do the same. I'm still looking into it, so this is just a warning.

Knowing this, I would recommend doing changes with the editor and checking them in offline mode with your most recent save that you have gone online with, then when you're done, you can go online, but don't use the old saves again.

It's also important to set hunter ids to blank when copying a save between slots or between steam accounts.
